2011 NFL Draft Results: The 5 Biggest Sleeper Picks of the 2011 NFL Draft

Gabe ZaldivarApr 30, 2011

The 2011 NFL Draft results come hailing in to the enjoyment of NFL fans everywhere. Sprinkled amongst the big-time names are very good players that can still make an impact at the next level.

Whether it be size, attitude or health, the following players slid down the draft. The teams that took a shot on them saw the same value in their ability that I do.

They may not jump off the page at you initially. After further inspection, you will wish your team took a stab at this handful of players.

Christian Ballard

The defensive end slid all the way to the fourth round after he tested positive for marijuana. I am going to take a leap and say that there would be plenty of NFL stars who would do the same if they were tested right now.

Ballard has the size and talent to start right now. The Vikings will be rewarded for this pick.

Ryan Mallett

I understand. Mallett is a big-time name, but he fell to obscure lows in this draft. Mallet was selected behind Colin Kaepernick and Andy Dalton. He will be better that both. The time spent behind Tom Brady will be crucial to his development.

Justin Houston

I dabbled with Houston in the first round in my mock drafts. He has the talent to be a top-tier linebacker, he is just too consistent. If the Chiefs can whip him into shape, this could be the best linebacker to come out of 2011.

D.J. Williams

Leave it to the Green Bay Packers to find a diminutive tight end with giant-like talent. Williams is a hard worker with great hands. The only downside is his blocking ability on the line. I say give him space on the wings and you have a stocky receiver with star like talent.

Jacquizz Rodgers

This guy sure is great for being small and slow. One of the best running backs in the nation was pushed back for a slow 40-yard dash speed and stature. I demand defenses to try and find this jackrabbit on the field first.
