UFC 129 Video Interview: Mark Hominick Talks Preparing for Jose Aldo
Just days before the biggest fight of his life, Mark Hominick took some time to speak with Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting about his preparations for UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo.
With the upcoming birth of a child, Hominick has had his hands full in the weeks leading up to UFC 129. While most would be overwhelmed, Hominick has welcomed the busy schedule.
"It kind of reminds me of back in my university days, because I was going to school full-time for my business degree as well as training for my Canadian title defenses for TKO." Hominick said.
The top featherweight contender continued, "It reminds me of just having such a strict schedule and making sure that everything's done in the day. The main thing is there's no down time. Every minute of every day matters, and I like being structured like that."
Once Hominick steps into the Octagon, he plans on coming forward against the champion despite Aldo's accomplishments.
"He's well-deserving of all the accolades he gets. You know like top three pound-for-pound. I think he's even higher." Hominick said.
"I think he's higher just because he can finish in any area. He can finish on the feet, in the clinch and on the ground. So he's dangerous, and I think the main thing is just not being intimidated."
