2011 NFL Draft Results: With Titus Young, Do Lions Still Want Chad Johnson?
Detroit Lions draft Titus Young in 2011 NFL Draft
Now that the Lions have added another quality wide receiver with Titus Young to go along with Calvin "Megatron" Johnson, what does this mean for Chad Johnson?
The artist formerly known as Ochocinco is most likely looking for a new team, especially after the Bengals added A.J. Green and some people thought Detroit might be a pretty decent location for him.
After all, even with T.O. joining forces with him in Cincinnati, Johnson has been the No. 1 option his entire career. Even with guys like T.O. and T.J. Houshmandzadeh taking some of the pressure off, he was still the guy that got each team's best defender.
Now, Johnson's best years are behind him, we can count on that, but could he still be a force as a No. 2 receiver? It remains to be seen, but you have to think it's worth a shot.
However, Detroit probably won't be taking that shot now with Titus Young. Young has got a lot of potential and should definitely help teams from doubling up on Calvin Johnson. It seems like overkill to try and get Chad Johnson and pay him the money that he'll be expecting.
If nothing else, you don't want two C. Johnson's on the same team. That's just annoying. Then you have to see jersey's with "Ca. Johnson" and "Ch. Johnson." That's just unseemly. Fans would have to go out and get new jerseys. It's a whole ordeal. I think the Lions would be better served staying away.
