Breaking News: Is a Top WWE Diva Leaving the Company? (SPOILER) (UPDATED)

According to PWInsider.com, Michelle McCool will leave World Wrestling Entertainment following this Sunday's Extreme Rules pay-per-view.

On Friday's Smackdown broadcast, a "Loser Leaves WWE" match between Layla and McCool will be announced for this Sunday's pay-per-view extravaganza. During the event's tapings on Tuesday, it was initially announced as a "Loser Leaves Smackdown" match but, sometime between then and now, post-show editing resulted in the new stipulation being added.

While there is currently little evidence or news outside of the PWInsider.com report, there have been several internet reports claiming Michelle was slated to receive time off in the following weeks to help heal up several injuries she has suffered over the last twelve months. It would now appear as though the slated time off has been axed and, instead, McCool will indefinitely leave the company.

Michelle McCool has easily become one of the few featured Divas in the company and her role on Smackdown, as a member of the LayCool duo alongside Layla El, is one of the spotlight acts in the entire company. Her off-screen relationship with Undertaker has remained a source of controversy and criticism, but few question her hard work or her passion for the business.

There will be more details on this story as they become available. One thing is for certain: WWE is losing one of, if not THE, most valuable Diva on their active roster.

UPDATE: Wrestlezone.com is reporting that Michelle's departure from the company is merely a momentary one. With the Undertaker not scheduled to appear on WWE programming any time, it is believed he simply wants his wife at home with him at this time. It is expected that Michelle WILL return to WWE television whenever Undertaker makes his return. Stay tuned for any further updates.
