NBA Finals 2012: Introducing the Best in the World Kevin Durant
I know, I know, it’s pretty early to give Kevin Durant this title, but there is no need to delay the inevitable. What we watched in Game 1 of the Heat vs. Thunder series were flashes of MJ and Kobe.
The spirit of greatness has reared its head again, and it is in the form of 6"10 and 230 pounds. What we saw at Chesapeake Energy arena in Oklahoma City was a much quiet-kept passing of the torch. At just 23 years old, Kevin Durant is already the best scorer in the whole league.
The lanky kid from Texas has quietly and confidently accepted his mission to be the next great. The self-proclaimed gym rat is at it again, and what a beauty it is to watch.
The range and difficulty of some of these shots are unbelievable. The dunk in bosh's grill was downright sick. The three-pointer he hit to spark the run seemed almost effortless.
Still, the scariest part of all is this kid hasn't even reached his prime.
In just his fifth year in the league, the young Durant has Oklahoma City flirting with an NBA title. I know the naysayers will come from close and far to cast their doubts. As those doubts come and go, the gym rat will continue his quest to greatness.
Once again, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to the best in the world. He resides in Oklahoma City, and his name is Kevin Durant.
