Friends of Fighting Chance

Ryan HallamOct 10, 2008

Many people at many other fantasy blogs have helped us get from our humble beginnings to where we stand today. I would like to take this time to recognize some and to give you an idea of what other great sites are offering around the net.

The host of the Gurus Baseball Radio Show that I was a part of, Todd Farino over at Fantasy Football Search not only has a radio show every Thursday at 9:30pm EST, but also gives you start/bench information at each position, and offers a search engine for fantasy football.

My other cohost from the Gurus Baseball Show is RC Rizza over at Junkyard Jake.  His site is one of the most complete on the web, and is one of the best minds about football.  Check out his article this week about who to sit and start for Week 6.

Keeping Fantasy Football in the family, Tom Casale (my wife’s cousin’s husband, did you follow that?) at SportsGrumblings.com has his column called the New World Order.  He has actual professional experience covering the NFL and often has inside information you can’t find elsewhere.  Unfortunately, he thinks he knows more than me, something we know to be impossible, but we still like him anyway.  The New World Order can be found weekly.

A site that has often posted my articles is the Fantasy Sports Forum. Not only do they write plenty of their own great stuff, but there are links to some more great info from around the net.  This week they are featuring their Risers and Decliners for Week 6.

We have also found some new friends in recent times that have great sites.

The Fantasy Football Librarian is one of my new favorite sites.  If I ever knew a librarian this cool, maybe I would have read more and spent time in the library.  You get some great insight about each week leading up to Sunday as well as some links to other great sites to help you win.  Thanks to them for featuring Fighting Chance on more than one occasion.

The Fantasy Football Roundtable is a great site that gives you daily updates and reaction to the latest news.  He also has some links to local newspapers for all the major cities which can help you find good information.  Definitely worth a look.

And finally, it isn’t all about football.  One of Fighting Chance’s own baseball writers, Corey Dawkins, at Fantasy Baseball Strategy is still focusing on America’s Pasttime.  Not only does he cover injury info better than anyone, but he has a new article covering Pitch FX analysis.  This post uses pitch trajectory to judge average pitchers from the elite.  Check this out to see who should be leading your staff in 2009.  A special thanks to Corey for a great contributor to Fighting Chance all season long.
