Alexandre Burrows Video: See Burrows Bury Blackhawks with Series-Winning Goal
There's an Alexandre Burrows video making the rounds today, after the talented Vancouver Canucks winger shot his team through to the second round Tuesday night against the Chicago Blackhawks.
With just over 14 minutes to play in the first overtime period of Game 7, Blackhawks forward Chris Campoli turned the puck over on the edge of the Blackhawks' defensive zone. Unfortunately for the 'Hawks, Burrows pounced on the puck like Albert Haynesworth pounces on a double cheeseburger, flying into the offensive zone virtually unchecked.
He wound up and delivered a thunderous slap shot, blasting the puck past goalie Corey Crawford, whose lunge was a split second too late to get to the laser of a shot.

The goal not only won the game for the Canucks, it also won the series, giving Vancouver its first series victory over the Blackhawks in three seasons.
The Canucks had fallen victim to Chicago in each of the last two postseasons and nearly fell again in 2011, blowing a 3-0 series lead to wind up in Game 7 before finally escaping in overtime.
Vancouver has Burrows to thank for their berth in the next round this season. The winger scored both of the Canucks' goals in Game 7 and was a key cog for them throughout the series.
Frankly, I can't come up with a prettier way for Vancouver to end the series than on a fantastic open ice slap shot that buried in the top corner of the net.
Hitting that kind of shot when there's no pressure would be impressive enough, but to pull it off in overtime of the deciding game of a postseason series? That's just fantastic.
All in all, I'd say it was a rather fitting way to end one of the most exciting series of the postseason thus far.
