Ten Top Tens After Week Seven in College Football
Top 10 Teams
1) Texas- Real gutsy performance, certainly deserving.
2) Penn State-Getting scary good.
3) Alabama-Takes over Mizzou's spot as "team I'm least sold on".
4) Oklahoma State- Can they win Bedlam for a change?
5) BYU- Not pretty, not even as good as the score actually, but a win.
6) Boise-Scores 24 points in one quarter and gives the offense the rest of the night off.
7) Utah- Not sure who is tougher this year: Wyoming or Idle.
8) Texas Tech-Grudgingly enter my top 10.
9) Tulsa-Someone's busting the BCS and maybe the title game, I just want to be covered.
10) Oklahoma-The one-loss team that lost to the best team.
10 Teams that Stink (Midseason update)
1) North Texas-Picking against them is my meal ticket.
2) Wyoming- Parlay their opponent with whomever is playing North Texas.
3) Utah State-I have only seen them score in garbage time.
4) Idaho-We almost forgot they existed.
5) Wahington State-Could also be one of the biggest disappointments.
6) Syracuse-Just because they try doesn't mean they don't stink.
7) SMU- Not that anyone is surprised.
8) Miami (OH)-Surprisingly one of the worst week after week.
9) Rutgers-Is Mike Teel OK?
10) Clemson-I'm not letting Tommy Bowden off the hook for one second this season.
10 Teams That Don't Stink Anymore (Midseason Update)
1) FIU- Have won three in a row.
2) Minnesota-From one win total to 6-1 and bowl eligible after seven games.
3) Colorado State- Respectable in a hurry.
4) New Mexico State- That's what a good QB will do for you.
5) Notre Dame-That's what easy home games will do for you.
6) Virginia-Left for dead a few weeks ago.
7) Baylor- Headed in the right direction.
8) Temple- We knew they didn't stink before, we'll say it again.
9) Arizona-Lost yesterday but still miles from where they were.
10) Oregon State-Was looking rough after the Penn State game.
10 Best Players of the Week
1) Colt McCoy-Did he win the Heisman yesterday?
2) Cedric Peerman-16 carries, 173 yards in the upset win.
3) Nick Moore -Only 20 receptions in the Big House.
4) Zac Robinson/Kendall Hunter-I had to put one or the other, why not both?
5) Tina Fey (and the rest of the SNL crew)-That stuff is hilarious.
6) Daryll Clark- Nothing fancy, perfect for PSU.
7) Percy Harvin-The best athlete in the nation made LSU pay early for their mistakes.
8) Robert Griffin-The freshman goes 21-24, I thought he was a track guy?
9) Jake Sharp- Three TDs, 31 carries, and a win.
10) Joe McKnight-This guy is pretty good.
10 Guys I Root For
1) Art Briles-Just the right guy at Baylor.
2) Sylvester Croom-Hard to remember he's a trail blazer sometimes.
3) Anyone playing Clemson-Thankfully we don't hear from the most delusional fanbase in America anymore.
4) Joe Paterno-Doesn't everybody?
5) Knoshawn Moreno-I know he isn't as popular, but he's still one of the best in America.
6) Joe Tiller-He can still go out a winner.
7) Jin Grobe-I don't know him personally, but he seems like a nice guy.
8) Chris Petersen-His team's look like they know they have a chance whenever the hit the field.
9) Rich Rodriguez-He's dug himself a nice hole; he's too good of a coach to get buried in it.
10) Tommy Tubberville-Us Canes need to stick together.
10 I'm Not Rooting For
1) American Express- Said my blog was "Aesthetically unpleasing"...ouch!
2) AWeber Communications- Smug attitudes by their reps and an inferior product are a bad combination.
3) Nick Saban-In a word, Sleaze.
4) Bobby Petrino-No loyalty to fans, so don't get sucked in by his win this week.
5) Preston Parker-Just a model "student athlete."
6) Chase Daniel-Cry Baby.
7) AIG-What were they thinking?
8) NCAA Referees - They're going to get what's coming to them.
9) The BCS-Looks more like just a big mess.
10) Any of the Airlines Charging for Everything-So you guys have been jerks to us for years and we're supposed to be understanding?
10 Surprised Losers This Week
1) Michigan-Becoming an annual victim.
2) Auburn-It's not even fun to watch.
3) Oklahoma-That one had to hurt.
4) Illinois-12.5 -oint favorites.
5) Missouri- I wasn't surprised at all really.
6) LSU-Maybe not so much the outcome but the score.
7) Clemson-They always think they're supposed to win; it's just sad.
8) Arizona-I guess they're not going to smell the roses.
9) Wisconsin-Three in a row, ouch!
10) Nevada-All scoring, no defense get you a loss.
10 Things I Ate While Watching the Games
1) Pizano's Deep Dish Pizza-Highly underrated in the grand scheme of things.
2) Pizano's Thin Crust Pizza-Pizano's is a mob scene since Oprah said it was her favorite; I get it to go.
3) Ice Cream- It was Ice Cream Sandwiches for Week Seven.
4) Popcorn-Microwaved.
5) Granola Bars- I love those things.
6) Bosch Pears-From the farmer's market.
7) Almonds-I eat them all the time.
8) Grilled Chicken Salad-I guess that was lunch.
9) Oreos-Still the cookie of choice.
10) English Muffin-After looking at the list, maybe I need a more substantial breakfast.
10 Things That won't Surprise Me If They Happen In The Second Half of The Season
1) An Alabama loss- Is any BCS team going to run the table?
2) Disciplined Refs- I guess this really never happens no matter how bad they are.
3) More pressure for a playoff-When a Non-BCS school gets into a BCS game, it costs the BCS teams money. Since it's going to happen, and money is all they care about, maybe it's a good thing.
4) Clemson Fans call for Tommy Bowden to get fired-The jigg is up.
5) Ohio State gets back to the Title game-It's looking more and more likely.
6) Five more "games of the year"-we have one just about every week.
7) Bob Stoops gets a pro offer-Happens every year.
8) I have some unbelievably hot weeks picking games-Happens every year like clockwork.
9) At least one sponsor drops my site-My site is for the fans, not the sponsors, and it's staying that way.
10) Manny Pacquiao beats Oscar DeLaHoya-Thanks to our friends Rob Peters, Manny, and Freddie Roach for getting us tickets and not forgetting about us when you easily could have, you guys are the bomb!
10 Games I Want to Watch This Week
1) BYU at TCU- On a Thursday no less.
2) Ohio State at Michigan State- Sounds like a good one.
3) Missouri at Texas-See how far and how fast Mizzou can drop.
4) Western Michigan at Central Michigan-This is a pretty heated rivalry.
5) Georgia Tech at Clemson-When all else in the world seems bad, we can still watch Clemson lose and realize some things in the world are right.
6) Mississippi at Alabama -Could be interesting.
7) Kansas at Oklahoma- Nice matchup.
8) North Carolina at Virginia - Looks better than it did a few weeks ago.
9) Vandy at Georgia- Interesting.
10) LSU at South Carolina-Something tells me LSU may be pretty angry.
