TNA's Bound IV Glory Predictions
This Sunday is TNA's equivalent of Wrestlemania and there's a lot on the line. Will Mick Foley's first PPV equal buy rates? Does anyone care that Sting's being "disrespected?" Which side will Christian choose veterans or the new guys? All should be answered this Sunday in Chicago, but if you can't wait that long here's how I think it will go down.
KNOCKOUT BIMBO BRAWL
Special Referee: Traci Brooks
Rhino, Rhaka Khan & ODB vs. Beautiful People & Cute Kip
Here's one that will most will miss as they prepare the chips and dip waiting for the real show to begin. Now I have no clue why Traci Brooks is the special guest referee as this PPV already has Steve McMichael as a referee and Mick Foley a special enforcer. Adding Brooks as a referee just makes it monotonous, not exciting. Either way, look for Beautiful People & Kip to squeak one by the women's division commish.
THE RETURN OF THE STEEL ASYLUM MATCH
The X Division superstars battle inside the steel dome to try to escape
I'm a little confused here, or maybe TNA is the one confused, but they're calling this match the Steel Asylum. But the first time this match was held it was called the Terror Dome. And so far none of the participants have been announced so the winner is as big a mystery as the name change. But as long as Kaz doesn’t reappear as Suicide, my favorite for this match goes to either Sonjay Dutt or Jay Leathal. Winner, Sonjay Dutt.
TNA KNOCKOUTS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Champion Taylor Wilde vs. Awesome Kong vs. Roxxi
Wow how the mighty have fallen. Ever since Gail Kim left the company for WWE, then TNA, then WWE... wherever she went she took the heart of this division with her. And somewhere along the way I forgot how vicious Awesome Kong truly is. It seems that Roxxi has been getting a huge push so it wouldn't be surprising if she came out on top, but I've got to stick with champ and say it's Taylor Wilde all the way.
TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Champion Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Consequences Creed
Despite Angle's claim that he wants to enter the X Division to make it relevant, somehow the underutilized mid-carders have seemed to do it on their own. Although Creed is slightly over the top, and his still jukeing and jiving like Rocky Johnson from the 80s, you have to love his energy. While it would be fitting that the Real American strip Bashir for his title, the quick title changes could lose any credibility they are bringing. Look for Bashir to steal the win.
MONSTER'S BALL TNA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH:
Champions Beer Money Inc. vs. Team 3D vs. The Latin American Xchange vs. Abyss & Matt Morgan
Special Referee: Steve "Mongo" McMichael
This one has a lot going on already with eight guys and a whole bunch of weapons, but TNA decided to spice up the confusion a bit by throwing in ex-WCW spare and former Chicago Bear standout Steve McMichael. I like the quirky relationship between Abyss and Morgan and I think they'll weather Team 3D's promise to bring fire tables, and they will have their hands raised at the end of this wild battle.
THREE-WAY MATCH
Booker T vs. "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles
This battle between Booker T and AJ Styles, with special wild card Christian Cage, will be interesting. Which side will Cage choose rookies or veterans? Booker T's overly assurance almost guarantees that Cage will side with the rookies, but it's Booker T's briefcase that will play the biggest role. Not only will he use it for the 1-2-3, but it will also hold the contents used to control Captain Charisma.
TNA GRUDGE MATCH
"King Of The Mountain" Jeff Jarrett vs. Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle
Special Enforcer: Mick Foley
After a two year absence, Double J returns to face his "biggest mistake" Kurt Angle. TNA did a great job to make Angle's shoot comments to look like a work, and they will look to capture more magic with two big PPV debuts. Angle looks to have his mean streak back but whose side is Foley on. Don't be surprised if Foley gives the ol' double arm ddt and Jarrett covers for the win.
TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Champion Samoa Joe vs. "The Icon" Sting
Now if you take a look back at the line up from last year's B4G PPV, the card was stacked very similar to this year's. And if you look at the main event you'll find that Sting reigned supreme as he defeated Angle for the world title. Fast forward a year and he could be in position to do the same. But he won't. Samoa Joe should come out on top, but I think Nash might miraculous get his contract problem solved and make his return. Who's he sides with is another story. But remember, TNA rarely does clean finishes in big time matches. And TNA will solidify its champ's credibility with a win over The Icon.
