Bundesliga Preview: Dortmund Look to Seal Title in Front of Arch Rivals
Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich
Frankfurt are fast heading toward the drop zone and their situation has not been made better by the opponents they will be facing this weekend. It will be in-form Bayern Munich, who have been defeated just once in their last six matches.
It is the sort of form that has seen them climb close to the top of the table, although they are some distance away from Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table. However, they have the chance to overtake Hannover in the third position.
Frankfurt, on the other hand, have had just one victory in the bag recently. This kind of form has seen them be with the comfort of just three points between them and Wolfsburg in the 17th position. Given that there are only four games to go to the end of the season, Frankfurt will be hoping to get as many points as possible to get them out of trouble.
Frankfurt have only one fixture against a bottom side within those, which only accelerates the need for getting points out of the match against Bayern Munich. Bayern will be without too many injury problems, while Frankfurt remain without the likes of Caio and Clark.
Monchengladbach vs Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund will have the opportunity to send their arch rivals Mönchengladbach to relegation with a victory at the Borussia-Park. It is the perfect opportunity for Dortmund fans to gloat at their less fortunate rivals, with both teams located at the far ends of the table.
While Dortmund are looking to seal the title, Mönchengladbach are fighting against relegation. In fact, the situation is so worse that their relegation could all but confirmed this weekend. A massive seven point gap exists between them and Frankfurt, and with just four games remaining, safety looks extremely difficult.
Borussia Dortmund have an eight-point gap over second placed Bayern Leverkusen, which is going to be hard to eat into given the less number of matches. So, there is undoubtedly a party mood that is going to be prevalent at the Borussia-Park.
Injuries are probably the last thing that will be on the mind of Dortmund at the moment, but they will be without the services of Kagawa and Ginczek. Dortmund will have the opportunity to become Champions this weekend itself if results go their way, which is going to inflict more pain into the supporters of Mönchengladbach.
