TNA Breaking News: Former X-Division Champ Jay Lethal Removed from TNA Roster
Wrestlingnewssource.com, is reporting that former TNA X-Division and Tag Team champion Jay Lethal has parted ways with TNA.
I have posted a link to their roster here, confirming Lethal is no longer featured.
Most fans would agree, this is a pretty big blow to the X-Division and TNA itself.
Lethal has proven that he can perform in the ring, and almost a year ago went toe-to-toe with Ric Flair in one of the best promos in TNA history. Lethal embodied TNA and was an integral part of the X-Division since 2005.
His most notable character was "Black Machismo", which was a parody of Randy Savage. Lethal was a six-time X-Division champ and a one-time tag-champ with partner Consequences Creed.
The partnership only lasted a year, soon after Creed left TNA, eventually signing a developmental deal with rival WWE.
Surprisingly, Lethal was used a lot during 2010. He had several feuds for the X-Division title with Kaz, Douglas Williams, Robbie E and Amazing Red. However, it was his feud with Ric Flair that catapulted him into the spotlight.
He showed that he was the master of parody, he had every one of Flair's moves and subtle nuances down pat. This eventually led to a series-of-matches against Flair, in which Lethal beat Flair two of the three times they faced off.
Since his X-Division title run, Lethal was used very sparingly. In fact, last Sunday's Lockdown was the first TV appearance for Lethal in quite some time.
