UFC 129 Fight Card: With Prelims on Facebook, Every Fight Will Be Available Live
In February, UFC President Dana White told MMAJunkie that he hoped that a Facebook stream would help the organization to provide fans with the ability to view every single fight at every event.
Less than three months later, White's dream has already become a reality. According to MMAWeekly, the UFC plans to show five preliminary card fights on its Facebook stream for UFC 129. Coupled with two fights that will be shown on Spike TV's The Prelims and a standard pay-per-view broadcast, this means that every single bout on the UFC 129 fight card will be available for fans to watch live.
While The Prelims has been shown sporadically before every pay-per-view event dating back to UFC 103 in September 2009, the Facebook stream has only been used since its introduction at UFC: Fight for the Troops 2 in January 2011.
UFC 129 will take place on April 30, 2011 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The event is expected to break a North American MMA attendance record with 55,000 tickets already sold out. Here is the complete lineup for the event:
