Joe KleiberApr 19, 2011

With the retirement of WWE legend, Edge, it's the time to look back on his career and his rivalries. Throughout his career, he has had some classic rivalries, both as a singles competitor and as a tag team with Christian, Randy Orton, etc. Edge will go down as one of the best WWE wrestlers of all-time.  Here is a list of the top 15 rivalries of his career not in any kind of order.

Christian

1 of 15

Edge and Christian were the best of friends and formed the best tag team in the WWE at one time. They won several tag team championships, but Christian got jealous in the storyline and turned on him in 2001 after Edge won the King of the Ring tournament.

These two had some epic matches, including a ladder match at No Mercy 2001. They were two of the best wrestlers at the time and their matches didn't disappoint. It wasn't until 2010, that Edge and Christian reunited and got back together.

Kurt Angle

2 of 15

Edge and Kurt Angle had one of the classic feuds of all-time. There weren't many classic hair vs. hair matches in WWE history, but this was one of them. The loser of the match would have to have their head shaved.

Edge also created the "You suck!" chants whenever Kurt's theme song played. They are two of the best WWE superstars of all-time and their matches didn't disappoint. Kurt Angle got his head shaved and that ended their great rivalry.

Mick Foley

3 of 15

Foley may not have been in his prime when these two wrestled at WrestleMania 22, but they still put on a classic match. Their feud was built up by Edge taunting Foley and saying he was a chump. Edge claimed Foley was nothing more than stuntman for WWE and wasn't a true legend. Foley obviously took exception to this and their rivalry was built.

They put on one of the classic WrestleMania matches of all-time for both these superstars' careers and didn't disappoint. Their storyline went further after this match and they ended up teaming up at ECW One Night Stand 2006 against Terry Funk and Tommy Dreamer.

Edge/Christian vs. Dudleys vs. Hardys

4 of 15

The feud these teams had was the best rivalry among tag teams at that time. They created the TLC matches, triple threat tag team ladder matches and high flying risk-taking moves. There have never been more entertaining tag team matches than these matches.

Edge and Christian were the heel tag team, the Dudleys were the hardcore, table-using tag team and the Hardys were the high-risk, high-flying tag team. They defined risk-taking during their TLC and ladder matches. These matches will go down as some of the best matches of all-time.

John Cena

5 of 15

Edge and John Cena dominated Raw for an entire year until WrestleMania 25. Their WWE Title rivalry was one of the best rivalries for both superstars' careers. As soon as Edge joined Raw, he and Cena immediately started to feud.

Edge was the heel and Cena was the classic face. Cena ended up prevailing in the end, but these two put on some great matches. This may have been Edge's best feud of his career.

Kane

6 of 15

Edge and Kane have been rivals for awhile. It all started when Lita turned on Kane and joined up with Edge in 2007. This infuriated the "Big Red Machine" and the rivalry began. They had several memorable matches.

They recently had another rivalry in 2010 for the World Heavyweight Championship on Smackdown. These two hate each other in the storyline and Kane will go down as his biggest and most evil rival.

Undertaker

7 of 15

So many men have tried to take down the "Deadman" at WrestleMania and Edge was just another victim. He fell to Undertaker at WrestleMania 24, but their rivalry was very memorable. Undertaker regained the World Heavyweight Championship from Edge.

Not only did they wrestle each other at WrestleMania, but they also wrestled at SummerSlam. These two had some thrilling matches.

Matt Hardy

8 of 15

This might be his most famous rivalry, not only because of the matches, but because of what happened outside the WWE. Matt Hardy had been in a relationship with Lita for a long time and there were rumors going around that she cheated on Matt with Edge. This obviously didn't make Matt happy and the WWE fired him, because they didn't want to deal with this situation.

The fans wanted Matt back, and they kept chanting "We want Matt!" and "You screwed Matt!" The WWE responded by bringing back Hardy and immediately putting this feud together. They had some crazy matches such as a stretcher match. This was one of the best feuds in the WWE at that time.

Randy Orton

9 of 15

They were once one of the best tag teams in the business and won the WWE Tag Team Championship. In 2010 they developed a nice rivalry. At the time, they were two of the biggest names in WWE and battled it out.

This rivalry should've lasted longer than it did, but it was still a great feud nonetheless. They had some entertaining matches, including the one at Over the Limit 2010. This was a great feud for both their careers.

Jeff Hardy

10 of 15

Not only did these two wrestle when they were tag teaming against each other, but they had a brief feud in 2009 before Jeff Hardy's departure from WWE. Obviously these two can put on a show at any time, but their match at Extreme Rules 2009 was incredible.

They pulled out everything and of course Hardy jumped off the ladder like he always did. Nobody will ever forget their tag team matches, but their singles matches were great too. There is a reason why both these superstars are in the WWE top 50 superstars of all-time.

Edge/Randy Orton vs. D-X

11 of 15

In 2006, Edge and Randy Orton formed a tag team called "Rated RKO." They united, because both men were trying to destroy D-X members Triple H and Shawn Michaels. These four had some great matches and their feud lasted awhile.

Edge and Orton were the ultimate heels on Raw and D-X were the ultimate faces. It was one of the most entertaining feuds during that time and even Eric Bischoff got involved, who was also a major heel. Orton and Edge became the Tag Team Champions and this feud became a classic. Edge would also go on to have great feuds with Shawn Michaels and Triple H.

Chris Jericho

12 of 15

Chris Jericho returned to the WWE in 2009 and became the World Heavyweight Champion. Edge returned after a long absence due to injury at the Royal Rumble in 2010. Edge won the Rumble and would go on to face Jericho at WrestleMania 26.

These two had a great buildup for their match with their promos. They had never had a big feud until last year and they didn't disappoint. Edge would go on to lose to Jericho, but it was a great match and great feud.

Batista

13 of 15

Edge and Batista battled it out for the World Heavyweight Championship in 2008 and had a memorable feud. Edge was the heel and Batista was the face. Batista wasn't around for too much longer after this as he retired in 2010, but these two put on some good matches.

Their match at Night of Champions in 2008 was a great match. This feud meshed well since Batista was the "Animal" and was huge and Edge was the heel always trying to run away.

CM Punk

14 of 15

Edge and CM Punk had some great matches in 2007 when they were battling for the World Heavyweight Championship. Add in Jeff Hardy to the mix and there were some great triple threat matches as well. Punk and Edge put on some great promos as well. This really helped CM Punk and Edge climb up the WWE ladder into stardom.

Triple H/Shawn Michaels

15 of 15

Triple H and Edge feuded when Triple H was in D-X, but they had a great singles fed in 2008 for the WWE Championship.  Triple H and Edge are two of the greatest WWE superstars of all-time and their feud didn't disappoint. These two always put on great matches.

Edge also had a brief feud with Shawn Michaels in 2005, when they faced off at the Royal Rumble. Michaels and they put on a great match. They would also have a street fight that year that was another classic. These two can wrestle with anybody and they never disappointed. These two feuds were huge stepping stones for Edge for his legendary career.
