Daily Market Wrap Up
Moving Today's Market
The NLCS starts tonight as the Dodgers visit Philadelphia to start the best-of-seven series against the Phillies. Both teams took care of their opponents on Sunday, which gave each enough time to set their pitching rotation for this round.
The Dodgers give the ball to playoff-experienced pitcher Derek Lowe (14-11, 3.24 ERA), and the Phillies counter with their ace Cole Hamels (14-10, 3.09 ERA).
Lowe showed that the spotlight is not an issue for him as he held the Cubs to two runs over six innings in Game One of the Division Series. He has also pitched well at Citizens Bank Park, going 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in three career starts. Lowe's success in the playoffs has convinced the public to back the Dodgers in Game One, as they have received 59 percent of the money line wagers.
The line at Pinnacle opened at Phillies -145 and has slightly moved to -143, despite a Steam Move being triggered at 5Dimes (+15.80 units) on the Dodgers. The majority of the bets are on the Dodgers. However, the money has been divided up equally even if the line has barely moved.
If you are not a fan of baseball but looking to gamble on something else, there are two college football games scheduled for tonight.
The Clemson Tigers visit Wake Forest in an ACC showdown; and in a Conference-USA game, UAB plays Houston. Both Clemson and Wake Forest are coming off bye weeks after losing their last game. Clemson lost to Maryland 20-17, and Wake Forest lost to Navy 24-17.
Wake Forest opened at Pinnacle favored -1.5, but has moved to +1. The public is pounding the side of Clemson after receiving 55 percent of the bets. There have also been two Steam moves played on Clemson, including one at Sportsbet (+3.00 units).
Houston comes into tonight's game after defeating East Carolina 41-24, on Sept. 27. They are 2-3 and come in favored by -18 at Pinnacle. The line opened at -19.5 so the money is being pounded on UAB. They have received two Steam move alerts from Cris (+7.00 units) and BetJamaica (+12.6 units).
UAB is 1-5 and the only win has come against a Division I-AA team.
