Amir Khan vs. Paul McCloskey: Round-by-Round Results and Updates
WBA World Lightweight Champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO) takes on undefeated boxer Paul McCloskey (22-0, 12 KO) at the M.E.N. Arena in Machester, Lancashire, United Kingdom.
Khan went 2-0 in 2010 with wins over Paulie Malignaggi and Marcos Maidana. A bout with top welterweight fighter Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KO) in July is on the line for Khan if he is victorious in this bout.
The welterweight bout will be broadcast on HBO by tape delay after Andre Berto fights Victor Ortiz at 9:45 p.m. ET tonight.
Welterweight bout: Craig Watson (20-3) vs. Lee Purdy (14-2-1)
Round 1- Watson using movement and combinations to keep Purdy at bay. Most of the round fought effectively by Watson to in the round. 10-9 Watson
Round 2- Purdy doing well blocking Watson's shots, but Watson is more active. Purdy stalking Watson as he moves away from Purdy's right hand. Watson countering well with left hands and right hooks. 10-9 Watson
Round 3- Purdy trying to get inside, but Watson keeps him on the outside. Lots of punches being thrown by Watson against almost none by Purdy. Purdy looks for a right hand but misses wide. Watson lands a left hand that snaps Purdy's head back. Two right hands land for Watson. Purdy snaps two to the body. 10-9 Watson
Round 4- Purdy blocking effectively but still not throwing enough. Watson throwing combinations and out-working Purdy. Purdy gets inside and lands a solid left and follows up with a right hand. Another right hand from Purdy, and Watson fires back. Short, fast combinations by Watson to close the round. 10-9 Purdy
Round 5- Huge right hand by Purdy drops Watson early in the round. Watson gets up but is wobbly. Referee looks at Watson closely and waves off the bout, and we have a new British welterweight champion in Lee Purdy!

Super-bantamweight bout: Rendall Munroe (21-2, 9 KO) vs. Andrei Isaeu (23-2, 7 KO)
Judges score it 115-114, 116-112 and 117-112 for Rendall Munroe.

Round 1- Khan comes out and misses with wild right hand. Khan tags McCloskey with jab and looks to land left hook. Khan lands a body shot and left hook. McCloskey with his hands down as Khan moves forward. Khan lands a straight right to end the round. 10-9 Khan
Round 2- Left hand lands for Khan and McCloskey is off balance for a moment. McCloskey looks to land to the body, and he takes a jab and left hook by Khan. Khan flurries on McCloskey and misses with wide left hook. Straight right lands on McCloskey. Right hand lands for McCloskey, and Khan returns with a two-punch combination. Khan misses with left as McCloskey lunges in. McCloskey keeps his hands by his waist to end the round. 10-9 Khan
Round 3- Khan knocks McCkloskey against the ropes with a right hand. Khan showing superior speed with his jab and hook. Left hand lands for McCloskey. Khan is the busier fighter of the two. McCloskey throws rabbid punches as he clinches with Khan to end the round. 10-9 Khan
Round 4- McCloskey looking for one shot. Khan landing straight rights and left hooks. McCloskey trips as he comes forward. Khan landing solid jabs on McCloskey. Right hand misses for Khan. McCloskey misses with wild punches as Khan circles away. Right hand hurts McCloskey at end of the round. 10-9 Khan
Round 5- Khan lands a right hand as McCloskey moves back. Khan opens up with combinations inside. Left hand lands for Khan. McCloskley lands a short uppercut and a left hand. Left hand lands for Khan. Short combination inside lands for Khan. McCloskey misses with wide right hand. 10-9 Khan
Round 6- A minute in and neither fighter doing much. Right hand stuns McCloskey, and Khan opens up with more punches. McCloskey recovers, and continues to fight with his hands down. McCloskey cut after clash of heads occurs. Bad cut on McCloskey, and the doctor stops the fight. We are going to the scorecards. 10-9 Khan
