Friday Night Fights: Provodnikov Earns TKO in Main Event of Action-Packed Card

Russian prospect Ruslan Provodnikov makes his second appearance on this season of Friday Night Fights on ESPN2.

Provodnikov (18-1) lost on the season opener of FNF and had one fight since. His opponent tonight is undefeated boxer Ivan Popoca (15-0-1).

Also in action, lightweights Marvin Quintero (21-3) and Juan Santiago (13-6-1) battle it out over 10 rounds.

Opening bout: Marvin Quintero vs. Juan Santiago

Round 1- Quintero, standing southpaw, works the lab and body shots early on. Santiago, who took the fight on four days notice, takes some shots and fires a left hook that lands. Quintero lands good shots inside, and Santiago returns with punches of his own. Hooks landing for both fighters. Santiago waits for opening as Quintero lands combinations and rocks his opponent. Round 2- Quintero going to the body early and often. Quintero lands a right hook to the head and two to the body of Santiago. Counter lefts land for Quintero. Quintero using good head movement to get inside and land power shots. Two straight lefts land for Quintero. Quintero gets Santiago on the ropes and lands consecutive shots. Round 3- Quintero lands seven right hands and gets Santiago against the ropes. Referee Tom Taylor jumps in to save him from further punishment.

Swing bout: Mike Gavronski (2-0) vs. Tyrell Hendrix (5-1-1)

Round 1- Both fighters fall right into a clinch to start off the light-heavyweight contest. Hendrix gets dropped with a brutal right hand against the ropes. Hendrix falls to the ground after a clinch. Now Hendrix drops Gavronski with a right hand! Gavronski gets up and looks alright. Gavronski cut under right eye from headbutt. Round 3- Gavronski lands a right hand as Hendrix goes against the ropes. Referee warns Hendrix for using elbow. Gavronski does some good work inside as Hendrix falls into clinch. Hendrix throws two jabs but gets countered by Gavronski. Wide right hand lands for Hendrix. Lead right by Gavronski puts Hendrix on the ropes. Bad cut appears on the left eye of Hendrix. Referee calls time out to check out the cut. Short break and fighters clinch. Right hand rocks Gavronski to end the round. He may have stolen it with that punch. 10-9 Hendrix

Round 4- Hendrix lands a right but falls into another clinch and almost to the canvas. Right hand lands for Gavronski. Left hand lands for Hendrix that rocks Gavronski. Both fighters visibly winded but going punch crazy. Right hands land for both fighters. 20 seconds left, and they end it in the clinch. 10-9 Gavronski
