WWE: 10 Things the WWE Needs To Change To Improve the Sport
The WWE has produced poor pay-per-view matches, short matches, injured superstars and lackluster storylines and feuds in recent times.
What can the creative team do to right these wrongs and get fans more involved and passionate about the business we all love so dearly?
I couldn't possibly list them all, but I will outline, in my opinion, the most important steps the WWE can take to improve their product.
10: Get Edge Involved in the Creative Side of the Business
1 of 11
The "Rated-R Superstar" recently announced his departure from active wrestling, but in my opinion, one of the best moves the WWE can make would be to get Edge involved with the creative side of the business.
They need someone new who can connect with the fans and really build some decent and well-planned story lines.
9: Push Masters to the Main Event
2 of 11
Masters has paid his dues.
He is well respected by both fans and superstars alike and has proven to be quite popular in the locker room.
All Masters needs is a title around his waist and he has the potential to be one of the biggest babyfaces in the WWE.
8: Turn Khali into a Heel Again
3 of 11
The Great Khali may be slow in the ring and may not speak English, but he has the size and power to dominate.
I miss the original Great Khali who main-evented unusual PPV matches like the Punjabi Prison match.
Ditch the dancing and the stupid red trunks and get this guy back to crushing skulls!
7: Rebuild the Tag Team Divsion
4 of 11
In the past, the WWE had an excellent tag team division, with the likes of the Road Warriors, The Dudley Boyz and The Hardys.
The WWE has certainly tried to keep up with fans' demands for tag team competition with The Nexus, Corre, Santino and Kozlov and, of course, the APPLE.
But we need real tag teams who belong together, and we need a lot more than what we have at the moment.
6: Bring Back the Cruiserweight Title
5 of 11
Returning the Cruiserweight Champion to the WWE would allow some of the current mid-carders to actually wrestle at PPVs, which would help them develop as wrestlers and develop their characters.
This would result in fewer jobbers and more talented superstars who fans could chant for.
5: Managers, Where Art Thou?
6 of 11
Managers added depth to characters; they added heat for heels and cheers for faces.
But in the past few years, managers have been dwindling in the WWE.
If we could see some companions with our favourite or most-hated superstars, it would bring a better atmosphere to the shows and add some pizazz to the performers.
4: Rearrange the Commentators and Bring Back Matt Striker!
7 of 11
Smackdown should have Michael Cole, Matt Striker and Josh Matthews, which leaves WWE Raw with Jerry "The King" Lawler, Booker T and let's get good ol' J.R. back.
3: Reunite the Original Nexus
8 of 11
These guys suddenly showed up and destroyed Raw, literally turning it upside down.
Out of all the Nexus members, Daniel Bryan would benefit the most from a reunited Nexus.
Separate him from Gail Kim and get him performing in a style he is suited for: hardcore!
2: Reuninte the Straight Edge Society and Give CM Punk a World Title
9 of 11
We hated them, but let's be honest, we loved them at the same time. The Straight Edge Society are better than us, and to be fair, I sure do miss Serena landing boots to various Superstars' heads.
1: Mix Things Up with a Draft
10 of 11
Surely it's time for a draft in the WWE.
We need some of the main-eventers on Raw, like Randy Orton and and Triple H, back on Smackdown and the likes of Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre on Raw.
