Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley and Fights That Must Take Place After

Last night, we witnessed the first Zuffa, LLC-run Strikeforce event. Two titles were on the line, and we saw both Nick Diaz and Gilbert Melendez prove why they are two of the best in the world.

The card as a whole was great, and with a big questionable decision. Below are a few fights that should be made for future reference.

Shinya Aoki vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri: It would be truly interesting to see what the two would do to each other inside of a cage.

Gegard Mousasi vs. Keith Jardine: We know who truly won, but Jardine had nine days to prepare. A full training camp under his belt would make this a much better fight.

Paul Daley vs. Tyron Woodley: Tyron is a good fighter, but at this point he isn't ready for Diaz, so this fight would be a good fight to see if Woodley is truly ready for a title shot.

Lyle Beerbohm vs. Gesias JZ Cavalcante: This would just be a fun overall fight. Both coming off losses and need to rebound, so let them meet each other.

Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Josh Thomson: This would be a good rematch to have inside the cage. Odds are they wouldn't match Kawajiri and Aoki yet, so this rematch would be cool to see.

Pat Healy vs. Shinya Aoki: Why not? They both just recently beat Beerbohm. Make it happen—it would be a cool fight to see, and the winner of this would make a huge leap.

It's time for Nick Diaz and Gilbert Melendez to go into the UFC. Maybe not a unification bout yet, but in general give them a tough test.

These are just my thoughts.

Gilbert Melendez vs. Jim Miller: I say this because Miller is wanting his title shot. If he deserves it, he would beat Gil. This would truly be an awesome war, BUT I'd definitely favor Melendez in this fight.

Nick Diaz vs. The World: He can match up with anyone in the division. Wrestling is his weakness, BUT his BJJ makes up for that. A couple of matchups that would be good for him are: Martin Kampmann (striking clinic) and Jon Fitch (ground war).

Nick and Gil Proved that they are truly ready for the elite. So ZUFFA!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!
