2011 NFL Draft: Kevin Kolb to the Cincinnatti Bengals for the 4th Pick?

Mark QueenApr 8, 2011

Well, there may be a team with an even better draft pick who could be in the mix for Kolb’s services.

According to a tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cincinnati Bengals are interested in Kolb. A big reason, according to Schefter, is former Eagles quarterbacks coach James Urban, who is now the wide receivers coach in Cincinnati.

Yes, the Bengals have Carson Palmer, but Palmer has said that he wants to be traded to a new team or he will retire. There have been reports that Palmer has put his Cincinnati-area home on the market for sale.

The Bengals own the No. 4 overall pick, and a number of experts predict in mock drafts that Cincinnati will use that first-round pick on a quarterback.

Remember that trades involving players cannot be consummated without a new labor agreement. In fact, it has been reported that teams cannot at this time discuss potential trades involving players.

Too high of a pick to give up for the promising, yet unproven Kevin Kolb? Not to a life long Eagles fan.

While this is a long shot to actually happen, the market for starting quarterbacks is weak, forcing the value of Kolb to sky rocket. All the Eagles organization needs is for one team to see the franchise quarterback quality in Kevin and they will be rewarded handsomely. My personal opinion is that Philadelphia will receive a draft pick between 7-15.

What do you think Philly could net for Kolb?
