Aly Cissokho was born in France in 1987 and began his career at a very young age at AMJ Blois. He continued at Blois Foot, Saint Jean De La Ruelle, and Guegnon before becoming a senior player.

He continued at Guegnon before signing with Vitoria Setubal, Porto, and Lyon. Cissokho was the center of a possible transfer to a Serie A Team before the deal collapsed.

Since then, he has continued at Lyon during the 2010-2011 Football Season. He belonged to the French National Football Team but was never called during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Cissokho played in one friendly between France and Norway at the left back position on August 11, 2010. It was in this match that he finally made his international debut.

Cissokho is also the recipient of the 2008-2009 Portuguese League and Cup Award while played at Porto. It remains to be seen whether Cissokho will wear a Serie A Uniform.
