WWE WrestleMania 27 Recap: 10 Things We Learned from The Miz's Win over John Cena

The dust is settling from WrestleMania 27, and The Miz is STILL the WWE Champion after John Cena was pinned in a single's match at WrestleMania.

The Rock did have a healthy involvement in the match, restarting it and making it no disqualification, no count out.

The Rock then did what everyone was expecting him to do, and he Rock Bottomed John Cena, allowing The Miz to retain his title.  After the match The Rock gave The Miz a Spinebuster and another People's Elbow, thus ending WrestleMania.

There are 10 things we can learn from this match. So let us break it down.

No. 10

The WWE does not have faith in The Miz to win a match by himself over John Cena.  They have built The Miz to be a top-tier Superstar, but without legitimate wins over top-tier Superstars, the fans won't take him seriously.

No. 9

The WWE is afraid to let John Cena lose cleanly.  When was the last time you saw John Cena lose cleanly?  It has not happened in a while.  The WWE is scared to have their top star lose to anyone cleanly anymore.  It's very sad.

No. 8

Though we knew this before the match, it became much more clear: The WWE fans did not want to see John Cena/Miz closing the show.  That match was pretty much dead for the most part, and only got some decent pops right towards the end when the anticipation was high.

No. 7

Along with the last point, we learned that John Cena-Miz is not a really good match.  Neither is experienced enough to lead a match.  The Miz looked like he was trying to imitate Triple H by saying stay down Cena, and Cena looked like he was just not into wrestling that night.  Sure, they can make a decent RAW match, but on the grandest stage of them all, you need at least one more veteran star to keep the action going.

No. 6

The Miz is Awesome!  The promo to build up The Miz was really good. The entrance for him was cheesy, but better than Cena's, and Miz walked away as the longest-running champion in some time.  The fact that Cena was woozy and out of it for most of the match shows that the WWE wanted to play up his mean streak, and that he can be a devastating force.  Only time will tell if he will be Awesome for all time, but we definitely learned that last night The Miz was Awesome.

No. 5

The Rock-Cena feud is very important to the WWE, and apparently to the IWC as well, though most of us are complaining that Taker-HHH didn't end the show.  It should be interesting what goes down tonight on RAW between Miz, Rock and Cena.

No. 4

The Miz just got a huge rub!  Not too many people can say that they kicked out of their second Attitude Adjustment.  The entire crowd was hot for Cena's inevitable win, but out of nowhere The Miz kicks out.  That was a nice WrestleMania moment for The Miz.  Too bad he got stunted by The Rock.

No. 3

The Miz-Cena feud is about to get more heated, or at least once this whole Rock situation gets finalized.  The intensity of Cena towards the end of the match was really good, but it might not be good for his overall character.

No. 2

The WWE wants The Rock to stick around and be happy.  The ratings have been better with The Rock being involved, and it seems that The Rock loves being involved. Why else would they let The Rock take out the WWE's top two guys?

No. 1

The WWE wants to keep the belt on The Miz.  They enjoy the media attention that they get and understand that the fans do not want to see John Cena with the belt again for a good while.  The WWE was very smart by having The Miz walk out champion and keeping him as the face of the organization.
