It's been 25 years, a quarter-century (!), and it was one of those all-time you-remember-where-you-were moments. April 13, 1986. Jack's 30 on the back nine at Augusta was right there with Ali beating Foreman, Secretariat at the Belmont and Flutie's miracle over Miami.

Birdies at 10 and 11, another at 13, an eagle at 15 and back-to-back birdies at 16 and 17. Ballesteros found water at 15 and Norman found the crowd with an iron at 18. And there it was.

I was at a party that Sunday at a very good friend's home. We were much younger then, of course, and everyone was having fun and listening to music (loudly). I turned on the TV, with the sound off, and watched one of the most extraordinary things I have ever seen. I didn't need the sound. I was mesmerized, and watched it by myself while everyone else was having a good time.

I had the best time of anyone that day.

Thanks, Jack.  Yes sir!!
