AFL 2011: Arizona Rattlers vs. Orlando Predators Week Four Preview
A Rumble in the Phoenix Arizona’s snake pit is set for Saturday. The AC South leaders, the Orlando Predators, will take on the NC West leading Arizona Rattlers. Each team will enter the U.S. Airways Center undefeated and at the top of their division. The winning team will depend on which offense can endure, as both teams boast blistering defenses that have propelled their latest victories.
Receivers Trandon Harvey, Rod Windsor, Nate Forse, and Jason Geathers have turned the Arizona Rattlers into a four cylinder engine with a turbo boost by Quarterback Nick Davila.
This offensive strategy put together by head coach Kevin Guy has shred through the last two teams that attempted to slow them down and are ranked on AFL.com as the number four passing team in the league and are entering week four ranked number one on the AFL coach’s poll.
They will face Orlando’s ultimate defensive predator in Rayshaun Kizer, who is leading the AFL in individual defensive accomplishments and leads a defense ranked fifth in both passing and rushing yards allowed.
The Rattlers defense, as always, will be the key to victory on Saturday. There is no way for the Predators to keep the Rattlers out of the end zone all night, but when they do the defense needs to take advantage of the mediocre offense the Predators have in place.
The Predators are only ranked thirteenth in passing yards and seventh in rushing yards after two games. The Predators may still be dangerous though, as young Quarterback Nick Hill is developing into an accurate passer with twelve touchdowns, two of which he delivered to the end zone himself.
April 2 is gearing up to showcase what could become the AFL game of the week, as each team not only fights to preserve a winning streak, but also sole dominance of their respective divisions.
