Serie A: AC Milan vs. Inter Milan Preview

This is arguably the biggest match of the weekend in Italy and it could finally provide the chance to witness the changing of guards in the Italian Serie A table.

AC Milan come into the match leading the standings, but their lead could be short-lived given that Inter are just two points behind their local rivals. It will be providing a bitter contest for the spectators and it could finally see Inter complete the march up the table that started following the appointment of Leonardo. AC Milan have been struggling a lot in the last few weeks and it is mainly due to the dip in form of former Inter Milan striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Even though AC Milan have one of the best defensive records in the league, it has largely failed them in the last few matches, which is something that Inter will be looking to take advantage of, given the incredible striking options present at Leonardo's disposal.

Having not won in their last three matches, Milan head into the derby in the worst possible fashion. Inter Milan, on the other hand, seem extremely good when it comes to the form table, having failed to win in just one match of their last five.

However, Inter have the slight distraction of the Champions League quarterfinal match against Schalke, which will be something that Leonardo could have done without, ahead of the match.

Leonardo, however, will be quietly confident with his strike force spearheaded by Samuel Eto'o. AC Milan will be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has been their main goal scorer this season, as he is suspended for the match.

Milan failed to score a goal against Palermo without Zlatan, and it remains to be seen if they can cope with the absence of their main striker against Inter.
