Richmond Flying Squirrels' Concession Menu Heads to Extremes
The days of the “naked” hot dog may be numbered.
Thanks to the fan-friendly marketing of the Richmond Flying Squirrels, fans will continue to see more variety at the food concessions this season.
That’s right, the Squirrels are going to extremes with an expanded list of menu items.
The featured group this spring will be a pair of new burgers, and the imaginative Trolley Dog which consists of a giant hot dog covered with tasty chili and cheese, all nestled on top of two fried pickles.
The two burger combinations promise to be exquisite as well, each consisting of two six-ounce certified Angus beef patties.
Add these to the existing array of ballpark goodies, and some fans may spend more time headed to the concession stands than watching the game.
Not so fast. The Squirrels management has partnered with Bypass Lane to make your Diamond dining experience relatively painless. Spectators will be able order food, beverages and even souvenirs by using a specific app using their smart phones, or by navigating to www.BypassLane.com.
Fans will pay for their order through the same app, and then await a text message informing them that the order is ready. The pickup will be made at a designated Bypass Lane thus eliminating the customary time waiting in line.
The new system will be operational opening night, April 7, and will be used at all baseball and entertainment events at the Diamond.
"We pride ourselves on being on the cutting edge when it pertains to providing our fans with the best possible experience," said Todd "Parney" Parnell, Flying Squirrels' Vice President & COO.
"We're thrilled to become one of the first minor league baseball clubs to offer this technology, which will help our fans miss less of the great show we have planned."
