Startribune.com out of Minnesota, is reporting; former Cretin-Derham Hall high school teacher Gail Gagne received a stayed jail sentence of one-year, must register as a sex offender, and received a $300 fine.

The punishment stemmed from charges that she had relations with a high school football player three years ago.

Gagne, is the granddaughter of WWE Hall of Famer and AWA promoter Verne Gagne. The 28-year-old was in court on Monday and was accompanied by her parents, former wrestler Greg Gagne and his wife Mary.

According to the Star Tribune, the victim's mother read the following statement regarding her family to the court; "The family is left holding the dirty laundry of the defendant's unprofessional and self-serving actions."

Gail Gagne was introduced to the victim, who was 16 years old at the time, while she was a weight room instructor for the school. This introduction eventually led to two separate encounters.

This is a sad day for the Gagne family, as they have been a staple in the wrestling world for decades. Hopefully, they can recover and Gail Gagne can get the help she needs to move past this. Currently, she resides in California, no longer able to work in her chosen profession.

This is not the first time the Gagne family has been involved in controversy. Back in 2009, the Hall of Famer was in an altercation with another resident of an assisted living facility.
