2011 NFL Draft: Top 10 Worst Suits in NFL Draft History

Adam SpencerJun 7, 2018

The NFL draft always features some guys in bad suits.

Though it isn't nearly as bad as the horrible suits seen in the NBA draft, it's still hard to watch if you are a fan of fashion.

From all-black suits to odd tan combinations, there are plenty of bad suits to choose from.

Though I am by no means a "fashion expert," even I would have known better than to wear some of these suits.

As Robert Gallery demonstrates in this picture, not everyone has a great sense of style in the NFL.

Here are 10 guys, including Gallery, who looked goofy when they had their names called in the NFL draft.

(Disclaimer: I don't like tan/brown suits. I don't know why. I just don't.)

10. D'Brickashaw Ferguson

I'm not a big fan of his pink tie.

I think it would have looked better with a black suit if he wanted to wear pink.

The light tan suit just looks strange too.

9. Vince Young

Young's pinstriped look doesn't look good to me.

The baggy pants are also a negative in my book.

But the commissioner also looks bad.

The navy top with the khaki pants makes it look like he should be sailing on a yacht, not presiding over the NFL draft.

8. Calvin Johnson

As big and tall as Calvin Johnson is, it's actually impressive that he found a suit that was too big for him.

I'm not even mad—that's just impressive.

It's too baggy, and the sleeves look pretty wrinkled and loose.

7. Jake Long

My major problem with Long's suit is that he should have been better prepared.

Long knew the Dolphins were going to select him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft.

Therefore, he should have worn a suit that would have matched the Dolphins' orange and teal colors.

But he didn't, so he looked dumb.

6. David Carr

Carr decided the light blue shirt with the silver tie was a good idea.

I'm not so sure it was.

I'm not so sure any part of Carr's NFL career was a good idea either.

But he definitely made enough money to buy more stylish suits.

5. Robert Gallery

I don't so much have a problem with Gallery's suit (except that it's tan).

It's more his choice of facial hair that made him look goofy on draft day.

And his earrings. Someone should have advised him against them.

4. Ronnie Brown

No Ronnie, that suit does not deserve a thumbs up.

The giant lapels look bad, and the jacket appears to be a couple sizes too big.

Is it just me, or do teal and orange not go with anything?

3. JaMarcus Russell

The all-black look is more suitable for a nightclub.

For an event like the NFL draft, a regular suit with a little bit of color contrast is never a bad idea.

Stay classy, everybody.

2. LaDainian Tomlinson

L.T. is now one of the classiest guys in the NFL.

But apparently that wasn't always the case.

The tan suit with a strange gold shirt/tie combo just looks bad.

I'm not sure that shirt and tie would go with any suit.

1. Peyton Manning

Really, Peyton?

You look like a 60-year-old professor with that suit and tie combination.

It's even worse because of the suit jacket not being buttoned.

If it was buttoned, more of that awful tie would be hidden, and the suit might be salvageable.

But even if it was buttoned, Manning still takes the award for the worst-dressed player in NFL draft history.
