How about Brett and the Jets??? Tony Award Winning Performance!!

Marc BodingerOct 2, 2008

How many of you expected Broadway Brett to have 12 touchdowns in 4 weeks??? I definitely did not and he's my starting quarterback for my fantasy league. Realistically, 6-8 touchdowns now would have been fine but 12, I love it just like everyone else who is not a Giants fan in the NY area.

Now on to some analysis...

The lines are coming along semi well. Thomas Jones has been given some good opening courtesy of the Faneca-Ferguson-Mangold trio. He's had more gaps in 4 weeks then all of last season. As a Jets fan, that is comforting news because it can only get better. The most underrated Jet especially on the offense is Leon Washington. Holy cow he is fast. One step to the left and he's down the field. SportsCenter should definitely use the BAM BOOM bubbles from the old Batman shows when doing his highlights or am I the only one who would think that is entertaining?

Now to the defense. It is pretty much brand new and it is definitely harder to stop scoring as opposed to putting points on the board. After last week I can stand by this! So far the defense has been mediocre but the guy to keep an eye is definitely Darrelle Revis. He is a playmaker and future superstar at the position in the making. Randy Moss did nothing on him and that's quite a feat. Revis knows where to be if the opposing QB is targeting his manned receiver. Interceptions record is definitely premature but getting 5-7 this year is a near certainty...I hope.

As a Jets fan I am used to coaches winning games we shouldn't. Thank you Herm Edwards for beating the Bills in 2005 so we get the 4th pick instead of potentially having the chance to get Reggie Bush. Or last season when Herm Edwards lost to us which cost us Darren McFadden. Those must win games are not must wins anymore in this league. That is why the NFL is the top league in professional sports. Any team can win any game anytime.

Here are the upcoming 5 games:

 Sun, Nov 2@ Buffalo1:00 PM

Now according to records, projections, professional analysts everyone will probably say the Jets will go 4-1. Let me say one thing about this, I will see it when I believe it. Do I love the Jets led by Broadway Brett, of course but can they suck it up and lose 5 straight, unfortunately that can happen too. So I will not give you a record I think they will go because my prediction will probably be wrong but here is the analysis.

Cincinnati -- They looked phenomenal against the Giants. Even though they lost but it was by 3 and really played well on a nice day at the Meadowlands. It wasn't like Carson had the winds from the previous week but he did well even if the injury was happening that day. The Giants are definitely better than the Jets so we will see what happens. With the week off the offense should be ready to keep rolling because this could be another fun shootout.

Oakland -- Who knows which Oakland team will show up. Will there be another coaching change by then? The key to the game has to be shutting down there running game. Russell doesn't throw enough down the field to get the big play. I mean who does he have to throw to? Maybe in 2 or 3 years they will be dangerous but right now they are transitioning yet again. DMC will not enjoying seeing Kris Jenkins 20 times. I'd be terrified, he is a large human being.

Kansas City -- This is the game I want them to win the most because I can't stand Herm Edwards and "we play to win the game." I really wanted the Reggie Bush jersey in green. All of my friends still hear me complain about that game that was pointless against the Bills. Shutting down Larry Johnson and Dwayne Bowe are the focus for the defense but then again maybe Vernon Gholston can act like a $50 million 1st rounder and get a few sacks against whoever the KC signal caller will be because no one knows right now. Herm ruined LJ, how does a coach ruin a back who's built like a tank? I can't stand him. With my luck it'll be a close game but we'll see.

Buffalo -- If bothteams are above .500 at this point then this could be the game of the week. There are many future stars playing on both teams. Stopping Marshawn Lynch will be quite the task, he is just ridiculous but keeping the Bills receiving corp in check is the priority. Revis will have a big test with Evans which I will definitely enjoy watching. A great WR who can definitely go deep and an up and coming DB. If I was betting on this game I would avoid it unless the spread is even, it will be that close.

St Louis -- This game could be very interesting because Jim Haslett is an experienced NFL head coach and I feel he will seize this opportunity and make the Rams respectable. They won't win out but they will be competitive and give Jackson and Holt the ball, alot. Since they are playmakers watch out. I can't predict this game because by the time this one is played the Rams will be a completely different squad.

I hope you all enjoyed my predictions for the next 5 weeks for Gang Green. My hope is to be in first place and cruising but a lot can happen in 5 games. If the offense performs like it did against Arizona or even remotely with the execution of big plays on both sides of the ball anything is possible right now.
