WrestleMania XXVII: Winners and Losers Revealed!!

Jim McCarthy, Jr.Mar 23, 2011

In a recent article I stated that WrestleMania XXVII could possibly be the most predictable "Mania" of all time. Some agreed with my insights, others strongly disagreed and they let me know about it.

Unlike some who would back away from such a strong claim, I'm here to provide the breakdown of each match on the current card for WM XXVII. I'll tell you who is going to win and why. These aren't spoilers mind you, and for the record, I don't have any inside connections.

To be honest I hope I'm wrong. I would rather this be the most thrilling WM of them all, but fear it simply won't turn out that way unfortunately.

Think you can do better? Let me know what your card looks like.

1. John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snooki Vs. Dolph Ziggler and Laycool

1 of 9

Who would have thought? John Morrisson gets stuck with a mixed-gender match while his old partner is taking on John Cena for the WWE Championship. Crazy huh?

This should be the easiest match to predict. Having a celebrity on the team almost guarantees a win.

Winner: John Morrisson, Trish Stratus & Snooki

2. Jerry Lawler Vs. Michael Cole

2 of 9

If you would have told me that Jack Swagger, Michael Cole and Stone Cold Steve Austin were going to be involved in a match-up at WrestleMania a year ago, I would have considered it a bad dream.

Now it's real. Although I'm not really looking forward to this match, it will be nice to see Michael Cole get the crap kicked out of him by Lawler and Stone Cold. This one isn't tough to predict either.

Winner: Jerry "The King" Lawler

3. Rey Mysterio Vs. Cody Rhodes

3 of 9

I really think this match has great potential. Cody Rhodes is the future of WWE, and we may see the groundwork being laid at WrestleMania XXVII.

With Rey Mysterio probably taking some time off after WrestleMania to heal his many nagging injuries, I see the WWE getting behind Cody Rhodes with a big push into the spring and summer. Look for this match to be a WM classic!

Winner: Cody Rhodes

4. Sheamus Vs. Daniel Bryan

4 of 9

It was about time that Daniel Bryan had a serious contendor for the U.S. Title to feud with. I also have to note that WWE creative has done a good job resurrecting the strong heel persona of Sheamus in recent weeks.

Although it would seem as though Sheamus is gearing for another strong push, I would have to argue that it has only been done to showcase a Daniel Bryan win at WrestleMania XXVII. This should be another great match.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

5. Randy Orton Vs. CM Punk

5 of 9

I don't know about you but this feud has grown stale to me. I really don't care who wins or loses. I think a match between Punk and Cena would have been much more interesting.

Although Punk has every member of Nexus banned from ringside, there is something coming that is unexpected here. Maybe a new member perhaps?

Winner: CM Punk

6. Edge Vs. Alberto Del Rio

6 of 9

Although I don't see this match becoming one of the greatest ever, it will certainly be remembered as a pivotal match in the young career of Alberto Del Rio.

Since 1990, 15 out of 21 Royal Rumble Winners have gone on to win championship gold either just before or at WrestleMania. This is truly the "destiny" of Del Rio.

Look for Christian to turn heel and screw Edge out of his World Heavyweight Championship. This will set up the long-awaited program pitting the two former Tag Team Champions against each other.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

7. the Miz Vs. John Cena

7 of 9

I must admit, as a fellow Clevelander, it was cool to see the Miz realize his dream and become the WWE Champion. But sadly I have come to realize that The Miz may be the most un-deserving Heavyweight Champion in WWE history. I'm sure you guys can come up with a few more examples but it would be hard to argue that anyone has been less deserving of a Championship run than the Miz, especially a run as champ heading into WrestleMania.

I don't really like Cena either. John it's time to become a heel. Your act has grown old.

The most interesting thing about this match is how the Rock will get involved. Other than that, this match will be a huge bust.

Winner: John Cena

8. the Undertaker Vs. HHH

8 of 9

To me, this match reeks of Plan B. WWE obviously hoped that 'Taker would be in much better shape and that a more interesting opponent would have stepped forward.

Unfortunatly we are stuck with HHH and The Undertaker in a "No Holds Barred" match-up. Yawn. Been there, done that. Sure the streak is on the line but do you really think it could end this year?

I could see this ending in a draw or with some sort of outside interference. Either way, Undertaker is NOT losing. No way. Not going to happen.

Winner: The Undertaker
