Chicago Bulls Show Championship Pedigree by Routing the Atlanta Hawks

Faizan QurashiMar 22, 2011

Derrick Rose still hasn't forgotten it.

He still remembers, even though it's already been a couple weeks since the Hawks' huge comeback 83-80 win over the Bulls. The Bulls let that game slip away after having a double-digit half time lead and simply put, took their pedal off the medal.

Well Derrick Rose vowed this time would be different. This time, he wouldn't give the Hawks a chance to get back.

And that's exactly what he did.

Rose set the tempo early and often. Coming out with fire, and nailing three after three on whoever the Hawks threw at him. Kirk Hinrich was spinning around in circles by the time the game was over.

The Bulls blew-out the Hawks 114-81

Everyone on the Bulls (outside of Ronnie Brewer) scored.

They played well right from the get-go and the Hawks never really had a chance.

This is the kind of game that tells Bulls fans and the rest of the league that this team is READY.

They are here and they are ready to compete for a title. No matter who you put against them, they will fight and scrap the death.

The Bulls took a pretty decent playoff team in the Atlanta Hawks and almost made them cry on their home floor.

Derrick Rose was channeling his inner MJ and nailed bucket after bucket and finished with 20 points by the end of the half. He had already hit five threes. He finished with a career-high six.

He was the best player on the floor and showed why he is the front-runner for the MVP award.

However Rose wasn't the only one who shined, as the Bulls played well from top to bottom.

Luol Deng had a sensational game with 27 points. Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer did all the little things that didn't show up on the stat sheet. Bogans hit a couple of threes. Taj came in and give some enery. CJ Watson electrified with his play. Kurt Thomas was reliable as well. Omer Asik had a nice run.

It was an overall team effort and showed just how dominant the bulls can be.

Boston and Miami, you have been warned.
