UFC 132 Fight Card: Tito Ortiz Will Fight Ryan Bader After All
About one month ago, Ryan Bader openly requested a fight with Tito Ortiz in an interview with ESPN.com.
"I would want to fight Tito Ortiz, just because I grew up watching him. I want to have one of those guys on my résumé like a Randy Couture or Chuck Liddell. Purely out of respect, he's one I'd like to fight before my career is over."
Ortiz was quick to smash Bader's wishes, though. Ortiz took to his Twitter account to show his lack of interest in fighting Bader.
"I will no longer make ppl famous off my name. Bader. Sorry."
However, it now appears that Bader will get the opportunity to fight Ortiz after all. MMAWeekly.com is now reporting that Bader and Ortiz will meet at UFC 132 on July 2, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ortiz made no secret about the fight's announcement, as he posted the following tweets on his Twitter account.
"@danawhite wanted the foght he will get it ! Let's go!!!!!!"
"@ryanbader want some? You will get some. Let's go!!!!!"
With the addition of the fight between Ortiz and Bader, UFC 132 is beginning to take shape. The following fights have been rumored for the card but have not been officially announced by the UFC yet.
- Jon Fitch vs. BJ Penn
- Melvin Guillard vs. Shane Roller
- George Sotiropoulos vs. Evan Dunham
- Dennis Siver vs. Matt Wiman
