NHL Video: Ryan Reaves vs. Kyle Clifford and the Top 5 Fights of Last Week
Another week closer to the playoffs, and the fights are starting to have a little more desperation in them.
While teams are making a push for the playoffs, their tough guys are making a push to keep their jobs.
Everyone loves the quest for the Stanley Cup, and the fights towards the end of the season seem to be the best.
This is a list of the top five fights from last week in the NHL.
5. Brandon Prust vs. Travis Moen
1 of 5I had to give this fight points because neither of these gentlemen is a heavyweight, and the fight is in direct correlation with what is going on in the game.
Prust gets his hand loose and starts landing shots on Moen's helmet.
They spin for a while with shots being thrown back and forth, but Prust gets the better of Moen, and he falls to the ice.
4. Cam Janssen vs. Kevin Westgarth
2 of 5Now this is a bona fide heavyweight fight—I knew it as soon as I saw the names involved.
Westgarth is a heavy hitter, and he tries to land a heavy shot to start, but Janssen gets the fight in close, where he is best.
While Janssen is one of the best at fighting at close range and gets a few great punches in, Westgarth lands some serious shots during the fight.
3. Jake Dowell vs. Brandon Segal
3 of 5I don’t know what is in the water in Dallas, but the Stars have had a ton of big-time fights this season.
This brawl starts out with both men punching each other in the face before they try to wrap up to slow the pace.
They don’t throw any more punches, and we see that Segal is cut under his eye. Good fight!
2. Deryk Engelland vs. Chris Neil
4 of 5This fight is another heavyweight battle.
Neil starts swinging hard, but Engelland starts to land some heavy shots to Neil's face.
While they’re in close, they start sliding punches across each other’s faces before they fall to the ice.
1. Ryan Reaves vs. Kyle Clifford
5 of 5This is a fight that you have to pay attention or you miss everything.
This fight ends in the blink of an eye with a nasty right hand from Reaves. Reaves lands two punches that we could see, and the second ruins Clifford's day
I didn’t know Reaves had knockout power, but he does!
