Why Not Bowling And Donuts?

Sarah Talalay, who covers the Business of Sports for the South Florida based Sun Sentinel recently reported that Dunkin’ Donuts has added harness racing to its portfolio of sports promotions.  Dunkin’ Donuts is already involved in many baseball and basketball promotions.  Dunkin’ Brands, Inc. has embraced the sports landscape and has positioned its name in various sports platforms.  Which led me to thinking…why not bowling?  Fans of baseball, basketball, and horse racing enjoy their donuts, but I would venture to say that fans of bowling are even more drawn to Dunkin’s products.  I am not calling bowling fans fat, but if you take a quick view of the demographics, those who follow bowling tend to be thirty-something-year-old males who have a proclivity to enjoy soft drinks, energy drinks, fast food, and delivery.  It would be an interesting move for Dunkin’ Donuts to enter the bowling world while price of sponsorship is low and there is little-to-no clutter in terms of competition.

The PBA recently released news that bowlers will be wearing new jerseys this year.  The PBA has entered into an agreement with Gemini Sport Marketing to be the official jersey of the PBA Tour, meaning our players will have the opportunity to improve their overall look as well as the PBA’s with colorful, unique designs and styles. The jerseys will also enable the players’ sponsors and the PBA’s product registered partners to better represent themselves with bolder, larger logos utilizing Gemini’s attractive dye-sublimated jerseys.
