La Liga: FC Barcelona's Eric Abidal to Undergo Surgery to Remove a Liver Tumor
FC Barcelona defender Eric Abidal will undergo surgery to remove a tumor in his liver. Surgery to remove the tumor is scheduled for Friday.
According to the FC Barcelona official website, Abidal's operation is under the direction of Dr. Josep Fuster Obregon of Barna Clinic Grup Hospital of Barcelona.
The website has also asked the general public that Abidal receive maximum respect for his privacy.

Abidal was born in Lyon, France in 1979 and began his career with FC Barcelona in 2007. Before that, he was on various French teams such as Lyon-La-Ducherre, Monaco, Lille and Olympique Lyon.
Abidal has made 22 appearances during the 2010-2011 La Liga season. His last appearance was the FC Barcelona match against Atletico Madrid; the result was 3-0 in favor of FC Barcelona.
During his period with FC Barcelona, Abidal has won the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga Cup, World Club Cup, European Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup, Champions League and Copa Del Rey.
