Juventus Rumor: Fabio Capello or Arsene Wenger May Replace Luigi Del Neri?

Luigi Del Neri appears to be on the way out as Juventus coach, secondary to the team's poor performance this season and in the UEFA Champions League.

One of the reasons has been disastrous player signings such as Luca Toni and Andrea Barzagli.

The sports press in Italy have drawn up a list of candidates to replace Del Neri when and if he is fired as coach of Juventus.

The list is a who's who in World Football Soccer and includes Fabio Capello and Arsene Wenger. Here is a list of the candidates.

Fabio Capello

He is currently the coach of the English National Football Team and has said that it will be his last job. He was coach of Juventus, Roma, Milan, and Real Madrid before moving to England.

The possibility of his return as coach of Juventus is big, taking into account a desire to recreate a successful second term.

The down side of the possibility is that England is trying to qualify in Euro 2012 and for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Capello has always wanted to finish Euro 2012 and the FIFA World Cup 2014 before retiring.

Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger is the current coach of Arsenal FC for the last 15 years. During his period with Arsenal, he won 11 trophies and transformed the club into one of the greatest powerhouses in the Premier League.

Wenger was coach of Nancy-Lorraine, Monaco and Grampus Eight before joining Arsenal. He may be tempted to accept a coaching position at Juventus if Arsenal starts questioning his coaching skills.

The Other Candidates

The other possible candidates for the position of Juventus coach are: Luciano Spalletti, Antonio Conte, Marcello Lippi, Gianluca Vialli, and Andre Vila-Boas.

While these are possible candidates for Juventus coach, it remains to be seen what will transpire during the summer of 2011.
