Blake Griffin and Company Take Their Talents to YouTube
Due to the increased use of YouTube, athletes don't have wait for the invite from Saturday Night Live to display their off-the-field talents.
Blake Griffin and company have worked hard at branding themselves, and showing a funny side is just a start of a whole new brand.
Athletes have one player to thank: Miami Heat superstar LeBron James.
There have been other professional athletes who have branded themselves well, but James is the most recent to do so, and the most prevalent right now.
Blake Griffin Teams Up with Jordan Cameron for the Upcoming 2011 NFL Draft
1 of 4The high flying superstar and Rookie of the Year candidate Blake Griffin takes time off from throwing down dunks to talk about top prospect 2011 NFL Tight End Jordan Cameron.
If Griffin is hyping up Jordan Cameron, I would trust in what he is saying; the best athletes hang around other great athletes.
All joking aside, there is one thing that Griffin is doing that might be a stepping stone for years to come. He is branching out from one professional sport to another.
This video may have been just for fun, but it will be interesting to see if more teams start showing higher interest in Jordan Cameron after this video.
I can't see Cameron going into the top 10, but if he can bring hops on the football field like he did on the basketball court, we might have another Antonio Gates on our hands.
There is one place where I can see Cameron going, and that is to the Seattle Seahawks team—where the tight end position has been a revolving door.
Why You Want to Smell Like Kevin Love
2 of 4Is there a reason why Kevin Love called his cologne Numb#rs?
The simple answer is the amazing numbers he's posted in his first All-Star NBA season.
Even if the cologne smells like a sweaty basketball player, I would still wear it if I had even the slightest chance of pulling off one double-double, let alone 53 straight.
When a basketball player is already in the company of Moses Malone, something has to be going right.
Every time I watch this video, I laugh when the wolf raises his glass to Love. What I take it to symbolize is Love taking the place of Kevin Garnett.
After Garnett left the Timberwolves, the team has been looking for that one player to take on that superstar status.
His cologne won't put him there, but his play on the court sure will.
Craig Breslow Does Have a Pretty Left Hand
3 of 4Oakland A's pitcher Craig Breslow uses his left hand for more than YouTube videos.
He used it last year to hold opponents to a .194 batting average.
The Yale Grad made a spoof of the Rex Ryan foot fetish video. If Breslow continues dominating left-handed batters, people in Oakland might develop a fetish for his left hand.
As Breslow starts his second full season with the A's, he is looking to continue knocking down that opposing batting average with a certain reenergized Oakland team—one that made plenty of moves in the offseason to contend for an AL West title.
The Man Who Started It All
4 of 4LeBron James might be ridiculed for taking his talents to South Beach, but this commercial helped put James on the map of commercial stardom.
James didn't only star in this commercial, but starred four times in this commercial. It's funny every time James does the dive into the pool, just because of the difficulty of the dive.
James might not be the most well-liked player since leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he knows how to do one thing well.
And that's branding himself not only as an NBA player, but also as a funny man.
