NFL Trade Speculation: 5 Teams That Will Target Chad Ochocinco
There won't likely be too many teams that will be looking to make an offseason move for Chad Ochocinco.
Ochocinco is the ultimate diva in the NFL.
Some people love this. Others are quick to voice their displeasure.
One thing is for sure, Ochocinco is a hot topic. He promotes his name better than most professional athletes.
Not to mention he's not that bad of a player.
Actually, that seems to be a disputed topic recently. Why? I'm not completely sure.
Ochocinco has played 10 seasons in the NFL. In seven of these seasons he has achieved over 1,000 receiving yards.
He failed to do so his rookie season in 2001, his injury-plagued season in 2008 and now this most recent year.
There seems to be a bit of a drop off, but Ochocinco does have quite the resume. Leading the AFC in receiving yards four straight years is no small task.
However, Ochocinco is now 33-years-old and he has shown some signs of slowing down.
Ochocinco has made it clear that after 10 years with the Bengals he is ready to take his talents to another NFL franchise.
Is he really worth the trouble, especially with his desire and ability now in question?
Child please.
Here are five teams who will attempt to target a trade for Ochocinco this offseason.
5. Kansas City Chiefs

Dwayne Bowe cannot do it all in Kansas City.
Last year, that's what was asked of him.
Bowe led the team with 72 receptions and 15 touchdowns. The next-best wide receiver was Chris Chambers, who had 22 receptions and one touchdown.
Ochocinco's best years in Cincinnati were spent when T.J. Houshmandzadeh lined up as the other wide receiver.
The combination could work well for the Chiefs, and Ochocinco may not cost too much to get.
For all the Kansas City fans ready to attack me, take this into consideration.
According to many analysts Ochocinco has been regressing the last few years.
Over the last four seasons Bowe has gained 3,768 receiving yards. He is considered one of the top 10 wide receivers in the league.
Over the last four seasons Ochocinco has compiled 3,858 receiving yards.
He also did this in less games than Bowe.
4. Chicago Bears

I'm not a big fan of Jay Cutler.
However, I still feel bad for the guy.
Players and fans called him "soft" after Chicago's playoff game, he played all season behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league and his best receiver was Johnnie Knox.
Imagine what this team could do if Cutler had some talent around him other than Matt Forte.
The fit of Ochocinco and offensive coordinator Mike Martz could also be potentially potent.
Ochocinco isn't the fastest guy in the league, but he does have some of the quickest feet. This makes for exceptional route-running skills.
This could be a great fit in a Martz offense.
3. St. Louis Rams

Chad Ochocinco is not Terrell Owens.
It seems that the two are grouped together since they like to run their mouths, but they aren't the same.
Ochocinco may provide distractions with some of his outrageous stunts, but he has never called out a teammate.
Why is that important? Because, the main question is whether or not this move would hurt Sam Bradford.
The Rams have made it clear that they want to get Bradford a weapon at wide receiver next season.
Up until the NFL combine it appeared that player would be Julio Jones. Now, it's unknown if Jones will still be around at the 14th pick on draft day.
Even if he is, it may not be a bad idea to bring a veteran player like Ochocinco at the wide receiver position.
2. New York Jets

Is there really a better fit out there?
If you can think of one please feel free to share.
Ochocinco's trash talking may finally be embraced if he happens to land in New York.
When asked by the New York Post about coming to New York, Ochocinco made it clear he would love to play for a coach like Rex Ryan.
"I respect the New York area, they have a great coach that anyone would die to play for...a very player-friendly coach."
The future of wide receivers Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes are still unknown at this time. It's likely that at least one, if not both, will not return next year.
If that's the case New York will need some help at receiver.
Why not make it a player who will fit right in?
1. New England Patriots

Brady to Ochocinco.
It sounds pretty good to me.
Obviously, this is a move that may not seem like it fits as well as the New York Jets.
The Patriots are a quieter team. They don't run their mouths, and they take care of business on the field. It has always been this way with Bill Belichick at head coach.
It's because of Belichick that this move could very likely happen.
Ochocinco and Belichick have known each other for over 10 years now.
Belichick conducted workouts at USC when Ochocinco was preparing for the NFL 10 years ago. They became friends and stayed in touch.
The relationship grew in 2007 when Belichick was selected to coach the AFC Pro Bowl team.
It's rare to see Belichick with a smile on his face. In a recent interview, when Belichick was asked about his relationship with Ochocinco, he grinned.
"I like Chad. I like him as a player. I like him as a person. I like his enthusiasm and the fun he has with football, and I like how he competes on the football field. I have a lot of respect for that. [We’re] an odd couple, but in the end, I think we have a lot of things in common."
I'm sold.
