NFL Free Agency: 5 Potential Landing Spots for Braylon Edwards
Braylon Edwards would likely already be a member of a new football team, if not for the current labor dispute.
This is usually the most exciting time of the year for football fans, as it is basically the Super Bowl for all the teams who didn't make the playoffs.
Teams like the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins are always big spenders looking to throw money around, however, with the NFL in a lockout status, no one can sign free agents.
Braylon Edwards will be one of the better free agents available at the wide receiver position when players are eligible to sign with new teams.
Edwards has put up solid numbers throughout his career and has never had an elite quarterback throwing him the ball.
That could change this year for Edwards, as there will be multiple teams interested in his services, here are five teams (not including the New York Jets) who may be interested in his services:
St. Louis Rams
1 of 5
The Rams might not be at the top of Braylon Edwards' wish list, however they are a young team with a future Pro Bowl quarterback.
The Rams were the laughing stock of the league, along with the Detroit Lions, for a couple years in a row, however, they found themselves playing for the NFC West title last season.
The Rams' No. 1 priority this offseason will be to land themselves a big-time receiver to help the Rams strecth the field, and Braylon Edwards fits the bill.
While St. Louis might not be the most attractive landing spot for Edwards, if the Rams flash a couple extra dollars in his direction, he may be catching passes from Sam Bradford next season.
Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins are one of the major teams in the market for an elite wide receiver.
Santana Moss is a free agent, and the Redskins don't appear to be making an attempt to retain the speedy receiver.
With that, the Redskins will need to add a receiver in the offseason. Braylon Edwards has proven at points during his career that he can be a game-changing receiver and a star in this league, therefore, Mike Shanahan may take on the gamble by bringing Edwards to Washington.
If Shanahan can get Edwards to give 100 percent, 50 percent of the time, he will be a solid investment for the Redskins.
Dan Snyder is always in the market for elite free agents, and Braylon Edwards will be no exception, especially with the Redskins needing to add a receiver to play across from Anthony Armstrong.
Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City's pass game struggled toward the end of the season, and they desperately need to add a weapon across from Dwayne Bowe.
Chris Chambers was solid when the Chiefs first acquired him in 2009, however, he was a huge disappointment in 2010 and was not even active for their playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens.
If Braylon Edwards is looking to go to a team that can compete right away, the Kansas City Chiefs would be a solid destination for him.
The Chiefs defense became one of the better defenses in the AFC last season, and if Cassel can add another weapon to go along with Thomas Jones, Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe, the Chiefs offense could become a force also.
Chicago Bears
4 of 5
The Chicago Bears have been unable to find a main target for Jay Cutler since his arrival in Chicago. Devin Hester, Johnny Knox and Devin Aromashodu have all spent time as the top receiver for the Bears.
However, none of these guys has really taken over the top spot. The Bears are desperate to add another weapon for Cutler this offseason.
The Bears defense was very, very good this past season, and their offense was the only question down the stretch.
Adding Braylon Edwards to the fold would really help Cutler to stretch the field and would likely improve the Bears chances of making the Super Bowl in 2012.
New England Patriots
5 of 5
The Patriots already signed one star away from the New York Jets when they signed Danny Woodhead. The Patriots could look to add another former Jet when they add Braylon Edwards to the roster.
The Patriots took a shot on Randy Moss after he had a couple bad seasons in Oakland, so why would Bill Belichick shy away from Braylon Edwards?
New England could use another receiver to play opposite of Deion Branch, so they can move Wes Welker back to his natural position, which is the slot.
The Patriots might not offer Edwards the most money, however, they offer him the best chance of something that he desires most—a Super Bowl ring.
Tom Brady would certainly approve of adding another weapon. If the Patriots can reel in Braylon Edwards, they can focus their entire draft on adding playmakers on the defensive side of the ball.
Adding Braylon Edwards may be what the doctor ordered to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Foxboro.
