FC Barcelona: Gerard Pique Defends Club Against Doping Accusations
Gerard Pique of FC Barcelona told a press conference along with Marca.com that he takes the accusations of FC Barcelona doping very seriously.
He also added that the accusers are "playing with fire" with "rubbish accusations". Pique said that he and other players are "in the dressing rooms and know what people are taking."
Pique also said that when a team wins, it is because they are "the best".
Cadena Cope is the Spanish Radio Station which made the accusations against FC Barcelona.
The station claimed that FC Barcelona is associated with physicians who are less than "reputable".
FC Barcelona has demanded a rectifying story from Cadena Cope or face the possibility of legal action.
Jaime Lissavetzky (The Secretary of the Spanish State for Sports) declared that "Spanish Football is drug free".
Lissavetzky went on to say, "Spanish Football follows every guideline set by FIFA and UEFA with regards to doping."
I would like to ask a question to Cadena Cope. Where did you get the information in order to base your accusations? Is Cadena Cope aware of how grave and severe the accusations can be?
If Cadena Cope is making accusations against FC Barcelona for publicity, they are heading for trouble. I would also like to congratulate Pique on his defense of Barcelona.
I also want to congratulate the management of Barca for its rapid response to the accusations launched by Cadena Cope.
