WWE: Will United States Champion Daniel Bryan Ever Be a Main Eventer?
Daniel Bryan is a legend in the Internet Wrestling Community from his days in Ring of Honor. Of course back then, he was known as Bryan Danielson.
Bryan is quite possibly the best technical wrestler in the world today. He has put on five-star matches around the world, and is easily a main eventer in any independent promotion. I am not denying this. The problem is, the WWE isn't just any promotion.
Even though he is the United States Champion, he has been pegged with a geek gimmick ever since his debut on WWE NXT. On the debut episode, he began a feud with The Miz and was crushed by Michael Cole on commentary. The Miz feud was based on Bryan having "no charisma," and while this isn't exactly the truth, Vince McMahon evidently thinks so.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
The most recent example of this would be his Bella Twins/Gail Kim feud, where he was shown as an anti-ladies man.
If this wasn't enough, listen to his entrance music. It doesn't exactly scream WWE Champion, to put it lightly.
Obviously, he has been given a geek gimmick for a few reasons.
A.) His look. He looks like geek. You can shave his, or do whatever, but this fact won't change.
B.) He's a vegan. In no way am I saying this is a bad thing, but I'm sure somebody like Triple H looks down on this. I guess it's because Bryan isn't big and muscular. And as we all know, Vince likes bigger men.
Just look at the WWE's recent history with indy stars. Kaval (Low-Ki) is the most recent example. Although he won NXT, he was buried and released soon after.
And at the other end of the spectrum, look at The Miz and John Cena. They are, above-average wrestlers at best, yet they are facing each other in the main event at WrestleMania.
Let's face it, wrestling skills don't really matter in the WWE. Unfortunately, until this changes, Daniel Bryan will never be in the WWE's main event scene.
