NHL Video: Ryan Wilson vs. Jordin Tootoo and the Top 5 Fights of Last Week
With all of the talk surrounding the Max Pacioretty incident, the hockey world has been abuzz this week.
In all of the melee, you might have missed some quality fights.
You may say, "Donny, with all of the hoopla over head injuries, isn’t it insensitive to talk about men punching each other in the head?"
Yes, fighting in hockey is an art and these players are the Michelangelos of fighting.
Yet another symphony of destruction. Enjoy!
5. Micheal Haley vs. Adam Mair
1 of 5Don’t blink, because you will miss the start of this fight.
You can tell this fight is all about emotion because they are throwing hands before the camera can even get on them.
It’s a wrestling match for awhile but there were six really good shots that landed, which raises the validity of the brawl.
4. Paul Gaustad vs. Adam McQuaid
2 of 5This fight starts off like two war ships positioned next to each other shooting canons at each other.
Gaustad unloads several great uppercuts and then McQuaid gets some shots out as well.
They exchange glancing shots but the first 25 seconds was a punchfest.
3. Jared Boll vs. Cam Janssen
3 of 5There has been some history between these two brawlers, and they didn’t wait very long to settle their differences.
I have come to love Janssen as a trash talker, and after he takes a right uppercut from Boll, he still talks trash!
This was a long fight that had plenty of landed shots. Great fight.
2. Johnny Boychuk vs. Ryan White
4 of 5These two players were mad as hell when this broke out. You could hear their teeth grinding!
The players are swinging hard and wild, but they each land a good share of shots.
They exchange uppercuts and glancing blows before they each get in position to protect themselves. The refs jump in and another solid fight goes in the books.
1. Ryan Wilson vs. Jordin Tootoo
5 of 5When I saw this fight getting ready to go down, I wasn’t that excited.
Boy, was I wrong.
These boys are just hammering each other with crosses and taking the same abuse back. At 32 seconds in, Wilson lands an uppercut that rocks Tootoo.
They exchange heavy hands until the fight comes to a conclusion and Tootoo lets out a primal yell.
