MMA Pound-for-Pound Top 10 Rankings

Cody SlovenskyJun 5, 2018

The hardest rankings to make. People will agree and disagree.

In the pound-for-pound picture, you have to look at it like this: What has the fighter done lately, level of competition, and how would they stack up against everyone in the world if they were the same weight.

Beating low level competition wont get you in the P4P discussion, also exciting vs. boring isn't a decider either.

Hope you enjoy!

10. Cain Velasquez

1 of 11

Great start to his career. With recent wins over Cheick Kongo, Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera and Brock Lesnar, Cain has locked in a place in the P4P top 10.

9. Gilbert Melendez

2 of 11

The current Strikeforce Lightweight champion. Beat Japanese superstar Shinya Aoki in dominating fashion, and will defend his belt in April against Tatsuya Kawajiri.

8. Jon Fitch

Not many people like his fighting style, but the man is 13-1-1 in the UFC. He dropped in the rankings due to his slow start against BJ Penn. Love him or hate him, this man is legit!

Won 15 fights in a row. nine of those against guys ranked in the top 15.

Bad weight cut caused him not to look too impressive in his debut, but expect him to be on his A game when he meets GSP at UFC 129.
