Despite 2-2 Record, Eagles Flying High

After a sunday night loss to the Chicago bears, the Eagles fall to last place in the competitive NFC East division thru four games.  Despite the .500 record, the Eagles are an elite team in the NFC, and come playoff time will no doubt be amongst the most feared teams in the entire NFL.  Here are a few reasons why not to worry:

1) Brian Westbrook will be back this week or next.  "Mr. Everything", Brian Westbrook is the leader of this offense.  Although Mcnabb is great, Westbrook is the MOST valuable player on this eagles offense.  When Westbrook returns, a whole new dynamic to the offense ignites: an explosive runner, a very effective screen back, and a constant threat that demands the defense's attention every play.  With Westbrook's return the field will open up for McNabb to throw it down field to his young core of recievers

2)Desean Jackson will get better.  A mishandled punt and an idiotic play once again on a punt where he let the ball bounce inside the 7 yard line against the Bears, almost neglected his 1st (should be second) Touchdown of his career.  He is a rookie and the Eagles best option, and not a bad option at that.  Yes, he will make the occasional mistake, but a special player such as Jackson can make up for it the very next possession.  Also, don't forget last seasons mishaps in the return game (Season Opener vs. Packers).  As the season goes on, the mistake will lessen and more of the big play jackson will emerge.  Finally, Eagles fans can forget about T.O...a new receiver with some swagger is in town.

3) The young Defense's play will only get better.  The Eagles defense played fantastic last night against the bears along with every other game this season besides against the Cowboys where that night no team could've stopped the Romo show.  The linebackers, Bradley, Gocong, and Gaither are all in the mid to low 20s and they are FAST.  With experience they will only improve and become one of the elite LB tandems in the NFL.  The play of Patterson and Bunkley have been fantastic, and with more consistent play from the outside pass rushers cole and parker, Quarterbacks will be in a panic against this defense.  

So Eagles Fans, sit back, relax, forget about the 2-2 record because when the playoffs come around the Philadelphia Eagles will be atop the division and a favorite to reach the super bowl.
