WWE/TNA News: Kurt Angle Pledges Allegiance to TNA
Many wrestling fans have wondered if they would ever see Kurt Angle back in the WWE. Well, he sat down with UK paper The Sun, and told them he plans on retiring with TNA.
It's a pretty interesting article and really gives some insight on Angle's thoughts about TNA.
Not only does he talk about his in-ring career, but he also discusses his new movie "River of Darkness." Angle stars in the movie alongside former Main Event Mafia member, Kevin Nash, and former WWE champ, Sid Eudy, aka Psycho Sid.
He also shares his thoughts about The Rock's comeback and his relationship with Jeff Jarrett.
During Angle's interview, he states, "My contract comes up in August/September. I'm going to re-evaluate." Angle then added, "But I am NOT going anywhere else. I will stay in TNA, I just need to see how much I'm going to be wrestling for them, whether part-time or whatever amount of time, but I'm very happy in TNA."
In response to fans asking him about the WWE, Angle said: "A lot of my fans have been asking, 'When are you going back to WWE?' but I will retire here."
This is big news for TNA, as Angle is arguably the hottest commodity that TNA has. Ever since Angle's TNA debut, the company has been looked at as a legitimate competitor to the WWE.
Hopefully, TNA realizes the asset they have with Angle, and will utilize it to better their product. Don't get me wrong, I do know he has been utilized properly. However, Angle would be an amazing backstage trainer once he retires, and would also be a great tutor for upcoming stars.
Regardless of whether he wrestles again for the WWE, there is no doubt that he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. So hopefully after his retirement, he will make a one-time WWE return just to be inducted.
