Mississippi State...Tough Schedule and No Love

Chris CastellanosSep 29, 2008

With possibly the toughest schedule for an unranked and rarely good team, Mississippi State by far has the toughest schedule. The SEC is the toughest division in NCAA Football and has proven over time that it is one of the elite divisions. Let take quick look at the Bulldogs schedule both past and future.

Week 1 - @ Louisiana Tech (L 22-14)

Week 2 - Southeastern Louisiana (W 34-10)

Week 3 - #9 Auburn (L 3-2)

Good defensive battle holding the high powered offense of Auburn to only a FG and State's defense getting a safety.

Week 4 -@ Georgia Tech (L 38-7)

Georiga Tech and they have monsterous defense...need I say more?

Week 5 - @ #5 LSU (L 34-24)

      It's LSU.

Week 6 - #19 Vanderbilt

When will the ranked teams end?

Week 7 - @ Tennessee

Good possibility of a win against a team which is normally very good.

Week 8 - Middle Tenesse

Week 9 - Kentucky

Kentucky is undefeated so far this year. With a weak schedule it's no wonder why they are not ranked.

Week 10 - @ #2 Alabama

Will probably be a game we all will want to forget.

Week 11 - Arkansas

More than likely will be fighting for last in the SEC with these guys so watch out for the nail bitter.

Week 12 - @ Ole Miss

Nothing better than a friendly rivalry to end the season with.

While Mississippi State's team this year lacks the luster it had last year, don't look for much to come from them. Coach Croom can only do so much with what little talent he has on his squad. I guess that's what happens when your entire team is seniors.

Better luck next year.
