Manchester United vs Bolton: Styles Misjudged Penalty Call Overshadows Victory.
Bolton Wanderers traveled to Manchester over the weekend to take on defending champions Manchester United at Old Trafford, where they have failed to get a victory in the last six years.
It was Dimitar Berbatov's first home start of the campaign, and also Cristiano Ronaldo got his first start since last may. Wayne Rooney was listed on the subs bench for the start of the game. Some believe this was due to an irrational challenge last week against Chelsea which led to there tying goal, and also to get some chemistry started between Berbatov and Tevez up front.
The game began without a hitch and United staked an early claim to possession while Bolton looked to play stubborn at the back.

Ronaldo willingly excepted responsibility to move forward for the first goal making runs, and sending balls in on crosses. He almost broke the dead-lock before half-time with a free-kick just outside the box that took an awkward bounce but was controlled by Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.
Bolton did however get a chance to take the lead in the 41' minute when Bolton had outnumbered united at the back on a counter attack and Gretar Steinsson provided Fabrice Muamba with a low cross. Muamba, the former Arsenal player, put it just wide of the right post without interference from Edwin Van Der Sar.
The second half started with more of the same, United controlling the pace but finding it difficult to break through Bolton's back four.
The first goal came with controversy in the 60th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo fielded the ball and start cut inside the face of goal where he was met with a sliding challenge from Jlloyd Samuel. It seemed he had made slight contact with Ronaldo but more with the ball.
Referee Rob Styles pointed to the penalty spot despite pleading from the Bolton players. Ronaldo sending Jussi Jaaskelainen the other way and United got on the board first.
As the game continued on, the penalty decision seemed to wear on the Bolton players as they slowly withered out of the game.
Play moved forward with Wayne Rooney coming on in the 71th minute for Carlos Tevez. Six minutes later the change proved decisive as a counter attack led by Ronaldo with a gorgeous back-heel pass to Rooney, who took a touch then slotted it home to ensure the united victory.
The first win of Manchester United's new season came on a day where the losing side expected to get a result from the game but a call from referee Rob Styles disrupted matters and not from there players on the field.
Rob Styles has privately apologized and will not be punished in the coming week of Premiere League season where he is set to officiate the Tottenham vs. Hull City game this Sunday.
