Still Going at It: Japan Never Stops Giving When It Comes to Drifting
So you're interested in drifting? You and me both, my friend!
Not too sure where to start? Well, you're gonna need a car, and, if money is not a problem, take a choice of one from the list below.
There might be more cars that can do the job, but these beautiful babies have proven themselves time and time again. It's not a big list, but it sure is helpful.
From Japan
Honda Civic
Honda S2000
Mazda RX-7 (very well respected in the drift world)
Mazda RX-8
Mitsubishi 3000GT
Mitsubishi Eclipse
Mitsubishi Lancer (entire series)
Nissan 350Z
Nissan GT-R (not tested but presumed to go well)
Nissan Silvia S14 and S15
Nissan Skyline GT-R
Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI (mostly known for its rally performance)
Toyota Corolla (mostly '80 models, even if they look bad)
Toyota Supra
From Europe
Audi TT
BMW 1 Series
BMW M3
BMW Z4
Lamborghini Diablo (yes people the diablo can drift! Unfortunately, it's the only Italian car that people trust in drifting)
Mercedes-Benz CLS
Peugeot 207
Porshe Boxter
Renault Mégane
Saab Turbo X (not tested but expected to do well because of construction and power)
Volkswagen Golf GTI and City
Volkswagen Jetta
From North America
Acura Integra
Acura NSX
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (dubbed as not too bad)
Chrysler 300
Dodge Charger SRT8 and R/T (NOT the classic R/T, classic cars are not allowed because of their rarity and potential harm done to these beautiful classics)
Dodge Viper SRT10
Ford Mustang GT
Ford Focus (this one I could not believe!)
Pontiac G8 (or GTO as some still want to call it)
Shelby GT500 (sure looks like the mustang I know but the performance is noticeable enough to classify as a different car)
So that basically wraps it up! But now I have a challenge to issue to all racers, drifters and car fanatics everywhere: make a list of 100+ cars that YOU have tried and that work well.
But the thing is, if you do try drifting, make sure it is in a controlled environment, wear a helmet and always wear a seat-belt.Give me the name, year and make of the car and it will be added to the list bellow. The more cars you put in, the more people will know that this sport is awesome so let's do this!
Post your car request in the comments box or send it to my profile and I will add it. And for the love of the sport, get to work!
