Cam Newton: Will He Up His Draft Status at the Auburn NFL Pro Day?
For his size and weight, Cam Newton had a rather impressive combine back in February.
As for his upcoming NFL Pro Day, can he up his draft status on his home turf at Auburn University?
Well, it's only been a little over a week since his combine ended February 27th.

So, the next question is, how much can one improve in a week?
Gains don't just happen and most take time which means more than a week.
However, if Newton puts up better numbers at the Auburn NFL Pro Day it could be because of these two reasons:
1. He's back on campus which is a more comfortable environment.
2. He's been through the combine which was an unfamiliar environment.
Not to mention he's used to being in the spotlight, and back to being the big man on campus (at least for a brief while) should give him an edge.
So, with all this being said, will his numbers—i.e. 40-yard dash time, broad jump and vertical jump improve?
Probably not, but the actual QB drills should see an improvement since he knows what to expect having already been through the combine process.
And, even if the scouts don't see much improvement, Newton's draft status shouldn't be in jeopardy due to his reputation and popularity.
Don't put too much emphasis on his pro day either, because we know he's going in the first round even with only a few teams truly needing a QB.
Therefore, if his status increases it will only be minimal, but most likely it will remain stagnant.
