At 5-0, Penn State Is Off To a Running Start!

Last week I was over-exuberant in my high hopes for Penn State, with a record of 4-0, and the way they've handled unproven opponents. I went out on limb after limb, stretching every positive statement about this team to its breaking point.

I now pose a question to my fellow writers, readers, critics, and Nittany Lions fans... Was Illinois an adversary worthy of celebrating a now 5-0 start?

I live a good four and a half to five hours outside of Happy Valley, so I was only able to watch the fourth quarter in its entirety. The previous three quarters I listened to online thanks to Penn State's radio station, 90.7 The Lion.

I feel it's time to loosen up just a little bit and enjoy this 5-0 start. I will go out on a limb again this week, albeit not as many limbs this time around: Penn State is going places this year.

I'll downgrade a little bit. I won't put them in the championship game at this point, but they are without a doubt, in my mind, a bowl team thus far.

This team has a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, and they're playing with a lot of heart and soul. I love a team that goes out with the mindset of making a point and proving they're better than what they read about themselves.

I don't want to go on a huge rant this week, so I'll keep it short and sweet: Penn State fans, let's take in this 5-0 start and enjoy it! It may not be so nice next week (I have to be a little objective).
