NFL Offseason Two-a-Days: The Philadelphia Eagles

Ryan FryeMar 2, 2011

This idea originated from ESPN's Mike & Mike.

5.) Did the Eagles make the right move for franchising Michael Vick?

Yes.

Michael Vick had a great season and proved he can be a franchise quarterback in the NFL. Keeping him for another season is a great move, and they'll likely negotiate through the season.

4,) Is WR DeSean Jackson the league's most dangerous player?

The only other guy I can think of would be Devin Hester. Hester, while great on special teams, isn't near what DeSean Jackson is on the offensive side of the ball.

When you get Jackson in open space, it's difficult to catch. You look at his average yards per catch, which is 22.5.

3.) What kind of impact will Juan Castillo have on the Eagles' defense?

Andy Reid promoted his offensive line coach to defensive coordinator, which is an odd thing to do. I'm not going to criticize to move yet, instead I'll wait and see how it plays out.

However, since Jim Johnson died, this defense hasn't been the same.

The Eagles need help at outside linebacker and cornerback, which I'll get too in the next question.

2.) What is the Eagles top priority in the NFL Draft and/or free agency?

As previously mentioned, Philadelphia needs some help at outside linebacker and cornerback.

Moise Fokou has been average, but not great. Ernie Sims hasn't been what he was expected to be after being brought over from Detroit. Justin Houston from Georgia would be a good first or second round pick, while Washington's Mason Foster would be a late round steel.

When Ellis Hobbs was injured, Dmitri Patterson was placed in the starting lineup and he struggled. Prince Amukamara, who the Eagles would likely have to trade up to get or North Carolina's Kendrick Burney would both be good fits.

1.) Stock: Rising or Falling?

The Eagles surprised a lot of people in 2010, because they were expected to take a step back. This is a young team, and I only see the arrow pointing up here.
